Ok, I will keep Elfen Lied in mind then. I am really enjoying Deathnote at the moment. Right up my alley.

Deathnote was good, I was rooting for Light.

Misa was full of lol.

I figure this might be a good place to ask a question, so here goes.

I am looking for an adult (not that kind of adult...) themed anime which is dark, and strong. Strong in the sense of the emotional response one has to it. I just finished Ergo Proxy, and was happy overall with it, but the ending pissed me off, and I loved the Hellsing OVA's. (minus the recruit girl) Texhnolyze and Monster were suggested to me, as well as Noein. Does anyone have any good ideas?

I'll just list all the Anime I've watched (and can remember watching) and say weather I liked it or not, you can look for more info on any of them and decide if you want to watch them yourself.

In no particular order.

Inuyasha - Liked
InuYasha the final act - Liked
InuYasha movies 1-4 liked
Bleach - like
Bleach movies 1 and 2 - liked
Elfen Lied - liked
Monster - Liked, but only got 3/4 of the way through it before loosing cable. I couldn't find it in dubbed online.
Eureka 7 - liked
Ghost in the shell - liked
Ghost in the shell stand alone complex - Liked
Ghost in the shell 2nd GIG. - liked
Wolfs Rain - liked
The girl who leapt through time - liked
Moon phase - liked

FLCL -liked
Tokko - liked
Trigun - liked
Samurai Champloo - liked
Naruto - liked
Nartuto Shippuden - liked
Paranoia agent - liked
S-cry-ed - liked, but only got halfway or so through it. I know, it's only around 25 episodes long or so, but I only saw the first half or so.
I My Me! Strawberry Eggs - liked
Oban Star racers - liked

Vampire knights - only saw the first two episodes, but it looked promising, I just couldn't stand watching/reading the subtitles.
Requiem From The Darkness - unsure, only saw a few episodes

Big O - didn't

macross - didn't

I'm sure I've seen more, I just can't remember though.

Just watched Tales of vesperia First strike and I must say it felt very short (although it was quite long) the story left a little to be desired for but for something that was spawned from a game it was very good

I finished up Deathnote. Awesome series, but I was disappointed at the end. I watched about 6 episodes of Serial Experiments Lain, and found it to be sleep inducing. It reminds me of a VERY slow paced Matrix. So I decided to give Darker than Black a try, and didnt feel a very good connection to that either after a couple episodes, so I tried Cowboy Bebop, and gave up after a few episodes. Now I am banking on Monster, and have watched a few episodes. Looks promising. Hopefully it works out after so many other disappointments. I couldnt wait to watch all of the Deathnote episodes, and now I feel myself sad that I dont have any more. :(

Death Note was good, but I too was a little upset with the ending. Light loses and Misa commits suicide. :(

What all have you watched? Have you tried Elfin Lied?

Monster was good, from what I saw (only got to watch 3/4 of it or so), but I found it to be one of those that was hard to get into at first.

Cowboy Bebop wasn't bad either, but it's kinda slow as well.

I'm familiar with how to navigate Animefreak, I just haven't looked to see if they have Monster. A year ago, maybe a little longer, I couldn't find it in English dubbed anywhere and haven't gone searching again yet.

Currently I'm watching Bleach, FMA Brotherhood, and Kekkaishi on Animefreak in English dubbed.

Edit,
I just went looking and found that I left off after seeing episode 56 or so.

I just finished reading Bakuman. It's written by the same guy who made Death note.

Bakuman, stylized as Bakuman。 (バクマン。?), is a shōnen manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The series follows talented artist Moritaka Mashiro and aspiring writer Akito Takagi, two ninth grade boys who wish to become mangaka.

The first chapter of Bakuman was released in Japan on August 11, 2008, serialized in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. The first volume was released on January 5, 2009, and ten volumes have been released as of 4 October 2010. During the first two weeks of its release, the first volume placed fourth and ninth in manga sales in Japan. It is also the first manga released online by Shueisha in multiple languages before becoming available in print outside of Japan. At San Diego Comic-Con International 2009, Viz Media announced they had licensed the series for their Shonen Jump imprint.

Also, for you Initial D fans with some time on your hands. I made a paper model cutout for you guys. Enjoy!

^^^ oh you poor thing, suffering through gundam seed destiny for all of us.

I wasted 14 of my hard earned dollars on one volume of seed destiny and hated it. I'm a hardcore UC fan, infact I'm listening to the Zeta Gundam soundtrack right now!

I own all 50 episodes of zeta, best out of all of them imo, that and the original mobile suit gundam.

Cowboy Bebop
Gurren Lagann
FLCL
Hellsing (OVA's are cooler than the Pioneer series)
Gundam 00

See them all if you haven't already.
(and if you haven't seen Bebop, what the hell is the matter with you?)

Holy necro, Batman!

I've got a small list of anime I like:

Bleach
Trigun
Outlaw Star
.Hack Roots and .Hack Signs
Afro Samurai
Samurai X
Wolf's Rain
Evangelion

And of course some of the more mainstream stuff like Dragonball, Avatar, Ghost in the Shell, etc. Overall, though, I think my favorite series is .hack. 7 RPG games, 60ish episodes. So much to the series that you can find out by watching it, and even more by playing the games. It's incredible.

I will laugh as they overwhelm our enemies in a flurry of spotted banana hammocks.

I am almost finished with Texhnolyze, which started REALLY slow, but it gaining speed. If you can get through the first 11 episodes, the last 11 really start to pay off. Other than that, the first season of Ghost in the Shell was good, but I didnt like the second all that much. Deathnote was amazing. I recently finished Shigurui, which was ok. Not great, but not bad. The ending blew balls, but whatever. I tried a bunch of other animes, and couldnt get into them. Sorry, that includes Cowboy Bebop. I watched about 7 episodes, and felt that it just really wasnt my thing.

Watching Blood+ was the biggest let down to me as far as anime goes.
50 episodes that kept building and building, but there was no payoff at the end.
I was trolled...

The same is true for Soul Eater too...
That ending was fucking stupid.

Deathnote was a let down for me at the end. Ergo Proxy had a crap ending. Shigurui basically just stopped. There was no ending. And now Texhnolyze with a bad ending. I see a trend with animes so far... lol. Either no ending, something that doesnt tie everything up, or just a complete "everything is destroyed and everyone is dead." Ending.

Hellsing (the anime by Pioneer; not the recent OVA) has a really cool ending. It gave me goosebumps the first time I saw it, lol.

The most depressing ending of any anime that I know of at least, has to be Berserk's.
Bebop leaves you with an ending where you don't know if you should be happy or sad.

So, I spent the last hour or so sifting through stuff, trying to find an anime in my style. Full Metal Alchemist isnt my style, as it has the stereotypical "zaniness" style to it. Screaming, emotion faces, fast forward running, etc. Not my cup of tea. Currently downloading Witch Hunter Robin. Hopefully that pans out.

I tend to like that more because its funny. Posted Image

But Brotherhood I think as abit less. Try that though.

I'm going to see if I can revive this thread. Here's the combination of 4 years of collecting Anime for me:

I'm only missing Tengen Topa, which I deleted after watching because I just got extremely depressed at the ending. (and after Kamina)

I just finished Macross Frontier today. Was good, just too much singing -__-

I was meant to finish Shakugan no Shana but now I've forgotten where I got to haha. I was on the second season, that much I do remember.

Dunno, I just found it 2 days ago. I started a bunch of shows, and tried rewatching Angel Beats. Still can't get past episode 8. It's too depressing. :(

I'm still following Daily Lives of Highschool boys.

Amagami is pretty good if you're into that stuff. (My avatar and sig.) Posted Image

And I finished the entire Gundam Series. (Finally I know! Posted Image )

It's weird how I never watched it until now.
