If it rains... you decide if want to play or not. The game will continue on. Sometimes I like playing in the rain :P.

If it rains, that just means it's time to swap whatever I'm shooting for my mech guns, and keep on pushing the front lines.

Indeed. I'll have 'Ole Faithful with me. My trusty A5 has never let me down before. Hell I'll use a slingshot before I stop playing at LL.

I agree with the comment about some sort of pedialite or Gatorade. As an endurance athlete you need to put salt and electrolytes back in your body. I would also recommend going to your local running store and buying a product like "blocks" or "Gue" they are easily carried and have little to no weight. Blocks is designed to put more cabs back in your body as well as it has a higher salt content which will help you retain water which in an event like this is a good thing. Gu is a energy gel that marathon runners and other endurance athletes use for energy.

By looking at the maps my guess is running 10-15 miles in a day isn't out of the question so make sure you do what the above says otherwise life will suck!!!!

This will be my first LL so i am excited to meet everyone and thanks for the post this is awesome information!!!

Remember i you are drinking something like gatorade that it is Gatorade, no matter what is said about it powerade is actually just as bad to drink as a pop

You really think 2 cases of paint is enough?

I started with two when I was in college and had no money. Last year I bought three for Saturday and Sunday and another for the final battle. It really just depends on how aggressive you are on the field. If you are always pushing I'd say get 2 or more. If you tend to be stationary or maybe waiting on friends a lot on the field 2 may suit you.

And worse case scenario, you can always buy per bag if that suits you.

On hydration:

Drink plenty of water several days before the event to be hydrated at the beginning of the event.

This is very important, People also need to have salt too. it will keep water in you, the Marines in WW2 used salt pills When fighting on the Islands.

Also, For cardio, interval training will do wonders for this and also, weights will help. the strong the body is the easier that it can do activities so you can go longer.

nice write up!

Going to be adding a few things over the coming weeks hopefully. Especially a large section on poison ivy/sumac/oak. My entire left leg broke out after Living Legends 6 this year. Hopefully it can help some people avoid the pain/itch that I've been dealing with. The price of trying to live up to Orange's standards of a hero....

Updated some formatting, gas travel pricing, and other small things.  Waiting on a final map from Sean Scott and Viper and the final set of rules since we have some of those up in the air as well.  Start preparing ladies and gentlemen!

My friend and I are going to LL7 and were splitting the paint cost. 2 cases per person isn't enough in my opinion, i have an upgraded Invert mini with Dye rotor and 68/4500 tank and i would be outta paint quickly. Were preorder 5 cases of paint already and will probably need more. 10,000 paintballs and my hopper holds ~180 so thats about 55 hoppers, but don't forget I'm splitting it so we'll have about 27~28 loads each which should be okay, but no sure. If I got too much or not enough, let me know this will be my first year with my buddy. Right now for admission/air/paint/food/accessories/spending money I'm at $355ish. NOTE: I live 30 minutes away so thats not hotel fees or traveling fees.

Let me know if I need anything else or you see something wrong

Granted 2 cases isn't a lot for most players I went with what many high school/college players will be able to afford.  Living Legends is by no means a cheap event.  Many people will be spending on paint alone what others pay for the event, there's no doubt about it, BUT there is such a varying participation factor that many people don't realize.

Some will come to shoot a case and socialize, others will be grinding trenches and bunkers with 6 cases.  It's all up to you!  I usually think about what'd I'd shoot in two days of play, then add another for the final and dinner battles.  Last year I went with 5 cases after the event was over.  This year, probably more. :)

Great info...Thanks. LL7 will be my first, but I'm making the trip with a group from Saskatchewan that made it down to LL5. Much of their advice mirrors your post.
