Not exactly classic rock but I've been listining to a band called Muse. They're semi-new album: The Resistance is awesome. I like every song on it.

Come on guys, let's keep rocking! Why don't we do something like choose a different band every now and then and have a little history lesson? Talk about how they started, band members, big things that happened, stuff like that.

Yep and their leader has been absent for a while. :P How about we have each member talk about their favorite band, and say why it is their favorite?
Meh, I sounded good in my head.

I am going to be gone on Sat- Sunday (1 Week, not 2 days) at camp, so I won't be around. :(

Beta, SRV playing Little Wing is amazing, I could listen to it for hours at a time, he really kills that song.

I learned that supposedly one of the band members of ZZ Top lived in my house. (Drummer I think)

That's sick!

I'll share a quick fact about Pink Floyd. Their original guitar player was Syd Barett. (Actually his first name was Roger, but they all called him Syd. I don't remember why.) He went kind of crazy from all the acid and fame. Well, he went completely crazy. So they brought in David Gilmour as his replacement and the rest is history.

My personal favorite Pink Floyd song from the Syd Barett era is Arnold Layne.

VERY early floyd there ^. I never really heard his songs but once he started to think the cereal box was the tv, and watch it for hours. We all knew something was wrong

It's really sad because all his songs were great. I think I also heard somewhere that the entire Wish You Were Here album was dedicated to him. I believe Syd died of cancer 2006.

Great thread idea!

RUSH is my favorite band hands down. Then Zeppelin, Then its songs and albums from there.

Just a couple songs for the heck of it B)

For anyone that hasn't heard of Budgie they're like a cross of Rush Zeppelin and a little bit of AC/DC. zoom club and Bored with Russia are some of my favorites, but they've got a lot of great songs.

I like a few songs from The Beatles, Zeppelin, Van Halen, Eric Clapton, etc. I'm not sure exactly what you are counting as classic rock, but I'm going to assume you mean anything before the punk rock era and this new shitty metal.

I can play pretty much any of the songs from artists like this on a guitar if that helps secure my position in the club...
