While browsing through videos, I stumbled upon this.

It's a loader, that you wear on your back. Looks pretty cool. It claims to hold 1,200 paintballs and feed 30 bps.

Anyway, they're up for pre-order: http://www.strikeloader.com/ for anyone that's interested.

Although their advert is beyond ridiculous, it seems like a great idea if they can pull it off. I have a bad feeling that it is either going to suck, and be completely unreliable, need a million batteries, and/or be heavy as shit, and completely unwieldy. I would like something that would make a 98c sound like a chaingun though...

Gees. It'd be perfect for scenario players.... with Angels or Vices. I doubt most people would be able to even shoot all 1200 in 1 fill.

i dont shoot them, i greet them in the nude and invite them into my house to talk about jesus.

Ya, 1200 is only 8.5 pods. Not exactly out of the reach of most guns.

Looks sorta like a Medusa.

I show up at a field that I never been to before for some rec-play wearing cargo pants with a t-shirt....carrying a old mech Spyder and two pringle potato chip cans for pods shoved in the pants pockets. The stares are priceless and after the first game or so you get to see the grins from the ref and players who know....priceless.

Ever since the Medusa packs were introduced I've had this exact same idea in my head. I for one think that this think is friggen AWESOME. It probably has internals similar to all of those Box mag markers you see people modding now days.

I don't know if I'd show up to a rec day of paintball with one of these but maybe if I were to show up a LL5 or something :D

The guy finally got the funding to manufacture these. If you look at pictures from the Spec Ops Elite Weekend in 2007 you will see the prototype for this. It worked pretty well, but it was a prototype made of all metal so it was heavy as hell.

I think there is some real potentIal in this prduct despite the bad video I think that this would be an awsome scenario/woodsball piece but, there are some drowbacks, first how heavy will it be, how much battery's would it take, how long before it runs out of batteries, how much will it cost, as mentioned earlyer what will happen if paintbreaks inside Of it, will it really do 30bps, and above all else will it work. These are all things that could make or break it o guess I will have to wait and see. And theres no way I'm going to buy it to find out

You wouldn't be able to switch hands, but then again, some people say you don't need to switch hands with a warp fed marker.

its just a warpfeed but in a larger size and as a backpack....

But they haven't been mass produced like this yet. People were probably saying the same thing about the first Timmys built form Spyders. It's just a stacked tube poppet with a battery.

I would imagine that the batteries would be about the same as a regular force-fed hopper. The speed thing shouldn't be an issue as long as it can hold a constant 15-20; nobody shoots over that. As for cleaning, I would guess, or at least think it would be a good idea, that there's a bag inside that is removable, and flexible enough to be turned in-side-out. A ball break would suck, but with the bag it shouldn't be that hard to clean. Also, I would hope that there's padding inside to protect from breaks.

What's the difference in this things batteries and a regular hopper's batteries? Sure, it will take more power to push the balls up hill to the gun, but there is no way that they would allow this to run out of batteries after 1 run through.

It would be a neat addition for scenario play if they can pull it off. Though, I would tell the company to place straps or a pouch for a remote tank on that thing.

Hi guys,

I am excited to read this discussion about my invention (The backpack loader). I try to answer all open questions. In the next days we will bring several more video clips about the loader to our website (www.strikeloader.com) and YouTube. So check the site again from time to time.

First: I am not the grey haired guy from 2007 who also did a great work. But that device is too bulky and heavy and it operates on gas which has several drawbacks. Second: I am not from the US so please excuse my english.

- Strikeloader is battery operated and runs on a rechargable battery pack (as used in remote control cars). A charge provides enough power for over 10,000 balls.

- If you load a ball into the loader which is of low quality and already broken then u don't need to worry about the rest of the load being contaminated when that ball goes into the feeding chamber. The device has 2 units. 1) The main body which stores the paintballsd and 2) the feeding unit which can be separated from the main unit within 1 to 2 seconds! The rotor can be removed within 1 second and the whole mess including cleaning up the hose connection or exchanging the messed up hose against a clean spare hose (or cleaning the hose with the hose cleaning tool) can be achieved within 20 seconds (including putting the loader from and back to your back).

- If you use good undamaged paint you won't have any problems with breaks or jams. The loader uses a slip clutch and a special spring which provides a slight pre-tension onto the ball row in the hose. There are 5 international patents on the loader and trust me: It operates perfectly! Hands down. We had used damaged balls in the test runs and to be honest: The operation wasn't really interrupted by that.

- The device is very lightweight. Without balls and including the hose and belt system it weighs exactly 2.9 kg (6.39lb)

- It is very slim and compact. Check the facebook site (strikeloader) for photos or www.strikeloader.com

- The feeding mechanism is different than the one in WarpFeed. WarpFeed uses 2 discs with holes in them which kinda grab the balls between them. This wouldn't provide enough thrust for pushing a row of balls through a 40" hose. The friction in a hose isn't to be underestimated. There is a reason, why there wasn't any reliable backpack-loader on the market, yet. It was hard work to solve the many problems associated with the approach to feed fragile paintballs with a thin gelatine hull over the distance of 40 inch. with a speed of 30bps and without jams and breaks. Really hard problem solving work, I can guarantee you!

- The price will be (for the players who pre-order) 199.95 US$

- The hose is long enough to switch hands!

- There will be an additional padding inside to reduce the sound of the moving balls and prevent them from breaking (although we never encountered that phenomenon). But who knows how aggressive u play?!

- Of course the video is ridiculous. It is overstated and funny and it should be like that. Where is your sense of humor, guys?? ;o) This is a game and Life is good! Never forget.

Visit our Facebook Site, follow us on Twitter for updates and details on the release date or just to help me (the inventor) to make the product exactly how you want to have it!

I really hope you will enjoy this lovely loader when you have it on your back and turn your marker into a gatling gun!

Well, I'm super excited for this. I've carried up to 10 pods of paint on myself for scenarios before, so at 6 lbs plus 8.5 pods worth of paint it doesn't sound too heavy at all.

I remember this idea. Seems like they are using a hard case backpack, whereas the other idea used soft sided backpacks. Came in three sizes, a small one carried around 800 paintballs, the medium one carried around 1200 paintballs, and the large one was to carry a case. I think that it was called a turtle pack or something of the like.

im glad the inventor posted and cleared things up im super excited and at 200 dollars it is only SLIGHTLY barely any over priced in my opinion lol if the rotor and prophecy can go for 200 then this sure can. im positive many scenario ballers will be looking into this, maybe mike will get his hands on one
