Hebiki, what frame did you have on your 6.5? Was it the 45, slim 45 or 86?
Is the slim 45 feel similar to how the grip frame is on the GT?

I'm trying to read up on CCM but it's hard to judge from posts and pictures.
I haven't really seen pumps at the local fields, let alone a CCM

had the 86 on my S6.5

felt really nice. although visually the 45 looks more aggressive on the s6.5 and probably closer to the GT grip frame.

like I said in the other post, slim 45 is much thinner than the gt frame.

How well does your spire and gt combo work? I want to try out the spire, but someone told me they feed off of motion from a shot.. the drawback being on a smooth shooting marker such as a Clone GT they might not always pick up a shot and not always feed.. true? I find it hard to believe but the thing doesn't have any kick sooo..

When I talked to one of the virtue guys at Vegas, he said it "looks" for the barrel rise movement that EVERY gun has. Seen it working on several GTs (smoothest gun out there right now) with no troubles..

I know you keep asking Heb, but I feel the need to input my experience on this.

I used a sniper extensively before even ordering my CCM, it's not even close in quality to a CCM.

Its kinda like a high end vs a really high end electro.. A normal clone vs a GT.. the lower is almost on par, and does the job damn well fine, but it isn't the cadillac ;) Just because the car gets you from point a to point b, doesn't mean its the one your gonna go to prom in ;)

I personally LOVE the spire. not sure if you guys followed my Q&A series.... but the Spire has YET to jam on me. i've used everything on it. New ultra evil, old ultra evil.. new field paint.. old field paint.. paint stored properly.. paint baking in my garage.. it fed ALL OF IT. Get a spire and NEVER look back.

Hebiki, how does the empire sniper compare to the ccm 6.5?

MZ and Richy are dead on. there's a difference in quality. the best example i can think of is going from a toyota corolla to lexus' flagship sedan. Or in paintball terms...an etek3/4LT to a ego CSL. :)

but if you just wanna "dabble" in pump.. not get serious about it. not have to worry about $600 sitting in your gear bag collecting dust and paint particles, get the Empire Sniper. I personally dont like having a high end that doesnt get used (thats why I got rid of my Vapor, it was never gonna get used when I had my CloneGT as my primary. :)

in other news.. i should be receiving my aqua camo CloneGT after Decay of Nations.

first thing noticiable off the bat is the pump stroke. CCM 6.5 is definitely easier to stroke even with 2 return springs in it. It's like going from a unbalanced spool to a balanced one. That alone makes it much better than the sniper imo.

However, when it comes to non-pump related features, I'd say the sniper shines better, especially in the asa imo.

Honestly the ASA and Feedneck are the only things the Sniper did right.

They both are better than CCM's designs.

However, the Sniper just feels ba when you play with a CCM.

Thanks guys! After all that I actually saw someone with the sniper today at the field. He says he won it at some bidding site, but only used it 2x today as he wasnt liking it.
If I was impressed with it, I would have made an offer but it kind of had a slight farting sound I didn't like too much

Well it's leaking from the noid and the only think I haven't tried is the noid manifold orings, so I ordered some of them.

Hopefully that fixes it, otherwise it's a cracked valve.

It shot ok at CvZ, albeit I put 3 cases through it.

poly orings breaking in nicely.

stock dwell.. OP is at 105psi...... FPS at 290ish.

i will relube the drivetrain, then get a good paint to bore match..and rechrono. then measure OP again.

i have about 1500 paintballs left. and two full 68s.. will run all that paint through this weekend.. maybe in a "mock" efficiency" test.

nah, the 2liter is my favorite regulator. I have one on my viking and it's super easy. Just a few orings internally and its extremely consistent. I'll admit, it's not much better than a gladiator, but still nicer and easier imo.

AKALMP+MacDev are basically sister companies.

That's why the regs, feednecks, and stuff are all very similar.

I wish macdev still used the "power switch" on their markers. I think they are so much better than having buttons on the grip frame, the switch is just so easy.

since i have the new "aqua camo" GT.. figured i'd document whats going on.

Details:

Paint: shot 4 pods
OP: 100psi +/- 1
Chrono: 280-285fps
Dwell: 12ms (stock settings)
ORings: stock
Barrel: .684 Boomstick

now i'm gonna install some poly orings in the same spots as my white/teal GT and take readings. Then I'm gonna shoot a SHIT TON of paint through it...take readings, and report back. :)

yup... im bored.

I know. I owned that droid above (^^^) for a solid 2.5 days and traded it at the field Sunday for a Dynasty Luxe. I still love macdev, so I'm hoping to get another droid or an 07 cyborg. I love the older Macdev markers, they still shoot as good as the stuff being made today.

Isn't life funny sometimes? Was selling my VX so I can try out a CCm 6.5. Was looking to buy new for warranty and my own color combo.
Sold it yesterday along wit some gear. Used most of the $ for a 6.5 online with a color combo I can tolerate.
Now I see a LNIB 6.5 with a much desired. Color scheme and he was actually looking for a clone!
Oh well, if anything I sold some other gear and if I dont like it, I can resell without too much of a loss
