Truely beautiful. Look at this and take it in.

A man many of us have never met, and in a sport with such varying levels of intensity and skill.

And yet we all seem to come together to leave our respects for someone many of us have never shaken hands with, spoken to, or played with.

Does this seem amazing to anyone else other than me?

I played my ass off today, sweating from every pore and gave it everything I had.

Then I sat down, back at the tables, and laughed with people I had never met before. People who, not 10 minutes before, were as desperate to shoot me as was to shoot them.

I told some kids about who borg was, and how people that he had only ever meet online liked him so much that they flew him half way around the world, just to play with him.

A great time was had, and score was irrelevant.

I didn't know borg the way that many of you did, but it seemed like a fitting way to remember a guy that touched so many lives in our sport. The more I think about it, the more it makes me sad that I will never have the chance to call the man my friend.

I just wish I could have rep'ed it to the max with the borg sticker on my caddy.

RIP

This is what Kitty said over at PBN:

Danijel really didn't have any family, that was not his son either.
He was pretty much alone, he did not have a good relationship with his parents and did not see his brother often.
He will be missed.

For those insulting BORG, you are not aware of how bad his situation was. THe guy couldn't afford to eat, he was sleeping in the parking lot at work hoping there would be work for him the next day. He was eating 3-4 times a week and fading fast. His Fiance left him, and he just couldnt cope anymore. Please don't judge if you do not know the facts. When he had no work and no money for Gas he would cycle 35 miles each way having not eaten just to be with his fiance', when they split he felt trapped with nothing to live for. He has been in this situation for over a year - I don't know how he managed so long, he was brave and fought like anyone would, sadly there is a limit to everyones strength, and BORG found his limit Posted Image

I wish he waited, I tried to reach him again last night, but at that point his phone was off and ..

RIP,

I never knew this great man but I respect the TechPB community. The TechPB community respects him and thats enough for me.

Within the last year, I have lost my job due to the economy and had to move back in with my mother. When I moved back in with her, we lost our house to foreclosure and I have become very depressed at times, . . but my faith in God, my Wife, and my Family kept me from doing anything crazy. I could only imagine if I didnt have them as a support system.

Borg will be in my prayers.

this sunday, at OSG Paintball, Band of Brothers Big Game... i have requested a moment of silence in memory of Borg, and a dedication to him on the field....

remember a man not for how he died, but for how he lived.... feel what you need to feel, mourn the loss of a friend, of a loved one, but remember to celebrate what he was, what he did, and what he stood for.... our lives go on, the world will continue to turn, but its a little less full now that we have lost such a warm, generous and humble person.....

Borg.... i will miss you, even though we never met face to face.... from one soldier to another..... keep kicking ass buddy.....

Fallen but no Forgotten.....

Well stated. I think that he wanted to be buried in his jersey tells pretty much everything. After reading through so many topics, posts, seeing so many videos I can't help but feel that the reactions to this show what a online family we are. Borg I met you but for one weekend and I'm just sorry that one weekend is all I got. RIP Borg

I Don't post often, or even check here that much seeing as I have been out of paintball for almost a year. BORG was actually what kind of got me back into paintball. Watching his FPS videos made me want to come back and eventually, I did. He left an impact on the sport, but me as well seeing as he got me back into my favorite sport. He will be missed.

Borgs funeral took place this afternoon in his home town in Croatia.
Zdena was there as a representative of TechPB and Paintballers around the
world who couldn't be there to see BORG off. A wreath was laid on the paintball
communities behalf, massive thanks to Zdena for arranging this.

One of BORGS last requests was that he was burried in his Muppets Jersey,
I guess he planned to go ready for game on.

There is work and plans in progress to have a memorial up at CPX, as well
as a street naming on his favorite field, Bedlam.

I would like to thank everyone for the love and support that has been shown
towards BORG in this time, I only hope that he can see this and know how much
he is loved and missed around the world. R.I.P Danijel.

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.
