Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.

Hello, I'm not in the club (yet), but I was told for more information on Shockers, here would be a good place to drop by! So here I am!

I have a few questions:

1. What's the main difference between the Shocker NXTs and the SFT?

2. If I were to buy a Shocker used, what would be a better choice, the NXT or the SFT? I know the NXT's are newer, but I've heard that SFT's are usually upgraded to no other...

3. What are the usual prices for the NXT and SFT, respectively?

4. How goes the efficiency on the markers? I know Shockers aren't very efficient, but to what extent is the inefficiency? It's not that big of a deal for me, as my field has free all day air.

5. So if it's not very efficient, how smooth is the marker?

6. Last one, sorry for so many. What's the maintenance like for the Shockers? Is there a difference in the NXT and SFT?

Thanks guys! Sorry once again for the numerous questions :P

Hello, I'm not in the club (yet), but I was told for more information on Shockers, here would be a good place to drop by! So here I am!

I have a few questions:

1. What's the main difference between the Shocker NXTs and the SFT? SFT has a single reflective eye; while the NXT has more modern break-beam eyes. internally there is little difference and the bolt kits are interchangeable. Also different barrel threading. the NXT is Ion threaded while the SFT has its own special thread (not hard to find)

2. If I were to buy a Shocker used, what would be a better choice, the NXT or the SFT? I know the NXT's are newer, but I've heard that SFT's are usually upgraded to no other... Whichever you think you'd like better. Honestly there's not that much difference. NXT's are easier to resell so keep that in mind

3. What are the usual prices for the NXT and SFT, respectively?
NXT in good shape: $275-350 depending what upgrades it has
SFT in good shape: $200-275 also depending what upgrades it has and whether the owner knows what it's really worth

4. How goes the efficiency on the markers? I know Shockers aren't very efficient, but to what extent is the inefficiency? It's not that big of a deal for me, as my field has free all day air. On my 48\3000, my SFT gets a hopper and 3 pods. Guns with upgraded bolts will do better.

5. So if it's not very efficient, how smooth is the marker? I have to see the ball leaving the gun to even know the gun just shot. It's also very quiet.

6. Last one, sorry for so many. What's the maintenance like for the Shockers? Is there a difference in the NXT and SFT? Pretty much you unscrew the bolt guide (back cap) and slide all the internals out. Clean them and lube them with Dow33 (nothing else) and clean the eye(s) if they're dirty and your'e done.

Thanks guys! Sorry once again for the numerous questions :P No reason to apologize. That's what we're here for ;)

Thanks Nighthunter for all the great information!

I think that as soon as I get the money to, I'll definitely be picking up a Shocker!

Thanks!

That;s what I do. Freaks people out. The one guy asked me where the batteries were. I told him there were none. "No, seriously, where's the battery? Did you put it in the foregrip?"

I also prefer spring triggers . When it comes to the emag's magnetic trigger its a different story, AGD did it right with the emag. I also like the etek star frame's magnetic trigger, its very snappy. As are most of planet eclipse's markers.

With springs though you can make your trigger perfect though.

I like magnet triggers much more than spring triggers. Doesn't matter if it's a breakaway or increasing force, I'll take them. My G3's got my homemade increasing force setup, and my Impulse has the breakaway. Both are super smooth and the easiest to walk.

Every single gun I've had with a magnet trigger has been a pain in the ass.
I mean, yeah of course they shoot the same and this is all preference.
But I just cannot endure the feel the magnet triggers have.

Spring triggers are so much better to adjust as well. I can't even adjust the magnet one bit on my SFT without it going totally unusable.
