I am thinking of buying a T8.1 pistol.

I have never used a paintball pistol and have no I idea what are the pros/cons of using a pistol.

I play speedball, woodsball and recball.

My main questions are; Under what circumstances would a pistol be useful? Could you use it as a main arm? Is the accuracy of the first-strike rounds worth using the pistol as a main/secondary arm in the first place?

I would like your personal input please. cheers

I perfer the t8 over the tpx, but it is all personal preference.
I don't use pistols as a sidearm, but as the main gun. I find that if I put it in a holster I generally dont use it. They are fun for scenario and recball. It is like pump, some people will play with it anywhere, and some only use it for special games.

I recently made the total change over to Pistol. I am using an 8.1 as my main marker, it is very competitive as a main. You gain a freedom of movement that is amazing, I used to lug around my cocker and all the ammo and everything. Now when I went out I was moving so much faster than I would normally. It takes a bit to get used to, not having tons o ammo on you and having to plan your shots, but I was able to poke through such smaller gaps, and in general be such a smaller target that it made up for it.

I agree that it is like using a pump.

While I did manage to suck it up in quite a few matches, (getting used to 12g's and remembering that they need to be replaced) but with the pistol as your main you will have at least one moment of total bad @ssery when you get out that makes up for it. Like goggling a friend at half the field length with one shot in front of the ref, who could not stop laughing.

I would say if you know someone who has one, try it out for a few rounds first, it takes a bit to get used to it and I can see it not being for everyone.

i like the fact that it is first strike compatible something that the TPX doesent have so that wins me over
