I boycott Rap4. If you're really curious why, go digging around my YouTube vids. I know my Tacamo magazines are technically Rap4, but at least they don't say it on the side.

Wow, $60 to $260 for the same launcher? That's ridiculous. I can totally see why you do.

Who let you in here? OUT! OUT I SAY! Nah, i'm kidding. I play woods, and my bro plays speed. We have it out all the time that our sport is better when in reality we see them about the same. Like comparing Harley's to Hondas, SUV vs. Sedan, or Snowboarding to Skiing. It's all personal preference and it goes all the way back to how you're hard wired in that ole brain of yours. I mostly worked on this for something to do and really don't get out that much to play, and when I do its on whatever field I can. I used to offer building these tho FOR people who were hardcore milsim...but wouldn't you know, no one wants to throw down the $1,500+ price tag I'd have to charge them. Lol. I say tho, if you're gonna play speedball it makes sense to spend $1,200 on a fine tuned ball ripper, but if you're gonna play woodsball, why should that be any less true? Why wouldn't you want something to work and feel as much like the real thing and spend the same amount of money on the equipment to perform as it should? Big and durable to take a few knocks, accurate to pin through the trees, and with several optional features that allow you to shift tactics on the fly. That's the way you play, why shouldn't the gun match it? Right?

On that note, here's a few more pics of the gun with the Launcher removed in case I'm playing a game where I don't need/want it.

I actually play a lot of woodsball. Mainly with my speedball marker and jersey. Ill play both equally as much honestly. I do avoid speedball when I know people are just going to frustrate me or if I have friends who are newer (lol it was hillarious bringing a couple of first time field players, and the first thing they see is a 5 man legit team vs team game going on). I do like what youve done, and I actually do understand it to a point, and agree with most of what you said. Some people just like playing with something that feels like its a gun my friend passed some marksman mumbo jumbo and is a legitimate sharp shooter or something stupid (I totally forget what he did). I totally understand where he comes from when using his tippy. It does feel more like a gun. Why take that comfort away? Id be pissed if I didnt have the comfortabliity of my egos.

I can't stop looking at this.. it's so sexy. If I had to choose between an Ego 11 and this, that'd be a pretty hard decision.

How much does it weigh

This is one of those guns that a newbie will see and say "holy fuck, I hope im on his team" Awesome looking A5, my question how much does it weigh?

I get that "i hope he's on my team!" quote a lot actually, then i feel bad when I don't walk on the field and Master Chief the entire opposing team. I play well, but I'm not a one man army. As for how much it weighs. My scale reads it at 10-10.5lbs. The launcher weighed 4lbs exactly, so that has the gun at around 6-6.5lbs. Considering a REAL AR-15 or M4 is rated at about 7lbs, that means we're pretty much the same weight as the real thing. Almost everything on it is lightweight aluminum or plastic and not steel, it keeps the weight down. The main shroud is hollow and full of holes, but extremely strong in construction.

When compared to a 2lb mini or ego, that seems like a lot, especially if you hold the two back to back, but if you're someone who wants to simulate the real deal, then you don't come much closer. The sling helps alleviate the weight but what I find ironic is that at 20lbs+, my gear (vest, tank, helmet, etc. etc.) is much heavier, and with the heat it generates, it could literally murder me...with death. Last time I played, I almost passed out from heat stroke. Ironic again, considering half of my gear is ACTUAL army gear. I just need cooler under gear, but the weight is killer alone.

The other key to my construction was to give it OPTIONS. The best example is the stock. You can use it as is, extend it, fold it around for when you need to fight in closer quarters and run, or with just one quick screw take it off completely without having to switch out the back plate. Almost everything on it is adjustable or transformable, and if I could get the new scope, it would be much more versatile than the current one with a 4x scope to scan the field and a red dot for close quarters. The idea originally was I was gonna build more and sell them through this shop I worked at, but then it just turned into a project and that's all.

Under what circumstances would you use the launcher? I've seen people out with them in both paintball and airsoft on numerous occasions, but I've never seen one fired.

Also, If your pretty handy, there are a few people on the underground mod shop forum who have made box mags that feed from under the gun (and I think at least one person on this forum). That would be a pretty badass addition to this gun.

Not everything is about performance. Sometimes, people just like to spend money on what makes themselves happy. I know I've spent quite a bit of money on my Tippmanns, and I don't regret it one bit because that's what makes me happy.

So you're saying he spent $1200 in performance upgrades only? That's a bit misleading, and the general impression I get is that it's baiting for an argument about whether or not upping a Tippmann is worth it.

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.

That's not the point it's creativity that counts you can't do nothing like this to a ego but yea I bet most people would choose a ego over this(not me) but it's just personal preference
