Hey guys, I found this spreadsheet laying around - I guess we forgot to post it back when we did the accuracy test.

Let me know if my terms don't make sense. We used that pseudo-mathematical term "vector" again. It's the hypotenuse of the SD-X and SD-Y.

I used Vector Mean - Vector (specific velocity) to find a relative number. Higher numbers are better - that indicates that the barrel had a Vector smaller than the Mean Vector. Lower (negative) numbers were worse - indicating that the velocity had a Vector greater than the Mean Vector.

I always wondered why my guns always seemed more accurate at 350 (when I had them there by accident) then when I turned them back down to 300.

So according to this its better to shoot at 240fps than any other velocity?

thats what it looks like to me, but thats only precision, you're gonna lose range and the likelyhood of a getting a break though. I'll stick with shooting the field max.

what is the scale on that graph?

inches different then the mean right?
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

What is the definition of SD (standard deviation)? Because in common engineering standards (Civil, Structural, Land Surveying) SD generally refers to Slope Distance.

I would otherwise discourage using abbreviations.

yes, graph is Mean Vector - Vector in inches.

sorry, didn't realize - yes I mean Standard Deviation.

c'mon its the engineers make fun of each other game!

i esp like to pick on civil/environmental because thats what my GF is.

and over here we make fun of them cause its the easiest engineering major here (well beside management engineering but thats a whole other ball of wax).

Looks pretty random to me. No definite trend except ups and downs and its not even in a pattern of every 20 fps. I'd say its probably due to paint inconsistencies affecting its flight path.

Yeah there really isn't a trend in the data. I don't think you can pull any real conclusions from it.

Us EE's are also known for busting civils chops and ME's to a lesser extent. Thanks for representing my school Snipez. We are the engineers!

also, take a look at the scale of the data. I stretched the graph to get something to look at.
