Stop worrying about how you look, and start worrying about how you play. Get out on the field and play paintball the best you can, not stand at home in front of a mirror trying to figure out if your jersey matches your eyes.

Since when is pre-06 considered classic? I opened this expecting suggestions like Warcraft, Diablo, Doom, Hexen, Mech Warrior 2, etc. Some of you have it right. But Halo 2, Half Life 2, and Mech Warrior 4? C'mon kids.

Command and Conquer

Sim City

Heroes of Might and Magic

Neverwinter Nights

Baldurs Gate

Prince of Persia

I will laugh as they overwhelm our enemies in a flurry of spotted banana hammocks.

I can't find a single copy of this game for download, I loved it once upon a time, but all I can find is 2.... I REALLY want one though...
Pre-06 isn't really classic, but its all I can run.

I play the original COD on occasion and my girlfriend and i have a thing for playing sim city 3000 and the classic zoo tycoon. Diablo one and two im frightened to download or buy a again, i spent way too much time playing that as a kid. It was a problem lol, if i put either on my PC now, i'd never get anything done ever again.

Mechwarrior 2: 31st Century Combat/Ghost Bears legacy/Mercenaries (Using ONLY windows XP 32 bit or older)
Mechwarrior 3/Pirates moon (Using ONLY any windows that is not 64 bit and have a video card of (ATi) Radeon x1950 pro or lower, nvidia has not the driver problems)
Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries (I am on mektek, feel free to PM me if you need help installing. It is free and legit but JUST mechwarrior 4 mercs)
MechCommander (You will need to google this, it is free although MechCommander.org is DOWN)
MechCommander 2 (See mechcommander)

Morrowind (Runs fine on most systems to date)

Quake (Software conflict with all versions of Windows 7 64 bit, Vista 64 is fine though)
Quake 2 (It is a bitch to get any pre-summer of 98 copies to run on anything newer than XP)
Quake 3 (nVidia mobile GPUs <6600 are not going to run this without flickering)

Half-Life (You will need the newest patch to run on XP or higher without it asking for a disc)
Half-Life 2 (Works just fine)

Halo: Combat Evolved/Custom Edition (Main differences are standard halo is campaign without custom multiplayer map support, custom edition is MP ONLY with custom map support)

I love these all. These are the top ones off of my head

Also, for the insane Battletech related section. I have been playing since I was 6, so ~2002 is when I started up. I would have put MW1 up there but it is more of a text based RPG than a full on game.

The video games that hooked me personally probably the most within previously PC days are beneath.
Fundamental essentials games that truly connected me as opposed to the very first games I performed -- Castle Wolfenstein as well as Doom ought to get a mention however they did not hook me personally for long.
You will find others I've without doubt skipped however each and every one of these brings a grin in order to my face along with a need to proceed as well as perform them now
Just about all I want is my personal partner Bob and a sequential cable !, shame he is hitched along with 3 children now and may never emerge :P

1) Duke Nukem 3D (original Fight it out)
2) Great Thievery Auto One
Three) Europa 1400 (The actual Guild) - the original or even precious metal - not really pt 2 though :P
Four) The actual Sims 1
Five) Not real Tournament (unique)
Six) Monkey Island One & 2 (with out talking)
Seven) Total Annihilation
8) Red Alert One
Nine) Carmageddon
10) Half Life

DOSBox

Works every time :D

And also, the newest OS it will run on without DOSBox is Windows 2000 Pro. 2k Pro is some freaky hybrid between DOS and NT. Otherwise the only one older than 2kPro that it won't run on is Windows NT as that was the first NT based operating system.

Diablo 2....oh sweet lord.

I am currently on deployment, I work with an IT Section, and we have a localized LAN that we set up, with a bunch of spare computers.

We loaded Diablo 2 on all of them, and started a 6 man party, all with level 1's....

Our lowest level (after 7 months) is a 91 Necromancer...

We have a 98 Sorceress, a 98 Barbarian, a 97 Druid, a 94 Assassin, a 93 Paladin, and the 91 Necromancer...

So many hours wasted lol....

Other games:

Half life 1+2
Counterstrike 1.6/Source (and all mods including DOD:S and TF2)
Prey
Doom 1-3
All of ID's work.
Splinter Cell
Halo
Command and Conquer (all)
StarCraft
Call of Duty 1+2 (Online is STILL fantastic)
Warcraft 1-3
