I were my BDU pants even when I play speedball. They're nice and sturdy.

Shirts: during warm temperatures, either a black short sleeve Heat Gear Under Armor shirt or a camo long sleeve jersey (Realtree APG). If it's cool or cold, I'll wear a long sleeve synthetic shirt (Under Armor Cold Gear knock off) in Realtree Hardwood camo pattern.
I also hunt, so that's why I have all of these camo patterns. I dual-purpose all of my camo gear.
As for masks, my grey-green Vents Cylus mask.

Camo. Hah so generic.
Yeah, pretty much but it rocks for scenario paintball since I have stuff that covers all of the seasons. For the speedball fields, I was wearing tan cargo pants and a black t-shirt but I trashed that pair of pants when I was repairing my roof after a major windstorm - I got tar all over them so I just trashed them.
I'd rather spend my money on paint than buy a special purpose pair of pants (speedball only pants). I might look around for year-end closeouts around Christmas time though.
Use whatever works for you, I suppose.

Other than the fact that things get muddy and scratched up by twigs/thorns, speedball gear works fine in the woods.
Wearing heavy padding like what you're doing with the sweatshirts doesn't make paintballs hurt less. It actually makes them hurt MORE. When a paintball hits you but is cushioned enough to prevent it from breaking, the energy that would otherwise have gone back into the paintball to break the shell actually goes into you, causing bruising. If you wear light clothes, not only will you not die from heat stroke, but it will hurt less.
