He wasnt hunting...

It doesn't count as hunting if the animals are destroying property, you have the right to kill the animal.

I am saddened that this happened, but i must say, watching you guys discuss this topic from a Canadian point of view is quite interesting.

And what seems to make sense to me here is, if you cant see it, dont shoot it.

It's sad, but no need to take this over the top.

this

this man was trying to protect himself because he probably had previous run-ins with coyotes.

still very sad, i am not saying it is not.

This make me wonder, if he did have a coyote problem, then why would the family play paintball there?

Also, what did he shoot at? He heard something in a bush and blind fired fired multiple shots with a hunting rifle?
He either blind fired on something he did not know what was.

Or, he actually meant to kill the guy.

Either way, this is horrible, I give my condolences to his family and friends.
Nobody should be shot to death at all.

Spoiler

Ahh... I see the resemblance. I would've at least thought he would say he thought it was big foot... At least then people would think he's crazy, not just incredibly moronic... It's a shame. People were just trying to ball and have fun, and this jagoff has to go and re-iterate to the public why dumb-asses shouldn't posses firearms. Condolences to the family. This guy should be shot with monsterballs.

fuck yall this is my story

http://www.techpb.co...howtopic=177212 iposted it first now im mad

You disgust me. Some poor family is grieving over their 17 year old son/ brother/ cousin being killed, and some poor homeowner is thinking about how he killed a man and all you can think of is that you posted it first? Congratulation you sick fuck, you posted the story first, want a fucking cookie? +1 one internet to you good sir. My hat is off to you. I wish I could have posted this first. It disgusts me to think that someone would care so little to think that him posting the story first is anything that anyone gives one flying fuck about. You seriously show how inconsiderate some people can be.

I completley agree... It pisses me off that a paintball player, hell, even a human being is so inconsiderate about other people's lives that all he cares about is getting the "furst poast!!11!11" about the same story on a fucking paintball forum.

Grow the fuck up.

I'm a big proponent of the right to bear arms. But I also think there is a huge responsibility involved, and unfortunately not everybody gets that or takes it seriously. Things like this are such a huge detractor to our second amendment rights, it makes me sick.

Now do you think people should have the Right to bear arms, or the Privilege to bear arms?

- I'm assuming his "hunting rifle" was semi automatic, and that he would at least make some kind of attempt to look down the sights

- To hit something with firing semi auto, wouldn't that mean that the target/boy was directly in view of the sights of the rifle?

- Since when do coyotes have cars to carry their gear in?
I only play paintball so I can tell dirty jokes.

Why the hell wouldnt you look where you are shooting... blind fire is always a fail... And just because it happens often does not make it right? Murder, rape and abuse are all daily occurrences also. Should this guy go to jail no, cover the costs for this man to bury his son yes.

True but jail time or some reprimanding required, not only did he kill a person, he broke fire arm rule number one, "Confirm your target". You dont shoot something if you dont know what it is, a warning shot maybe.

Never ever, shoot at a unconfirmed target, he should have know that rule, so punishment should be enforced, if not with murder charges, then firearm safety violations.

I think it was attentional. If not the guy still deserves life. What an idiot. In my hunting classes the most fundemental rule is to know what you are shooting at.
