Title. What strange things do you do when you clean your gear?

I clean all of my barrels with hot water and apple scented hand soap, then let them air dry. I also tend to smell the breach of my guns to see if they have enough lube (yes, I know what Dow33 smells like lol) I also have to take my gear apart in a certain order.

Do you guys have any whacked out cleaning habits?

(and yes, pointless thread is pointless.)

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.

First thing I do is put my clothes I wore that day in the wash. Then I start with my mask, and then my gun. Nothing too extreme just basic bolt cleaning and lubing.

Every time I clean my marker, I put it next to a dead bird on the ground and proceeds to dance while I sing a Meredith Monk song.

When I get home I usually start with my mask, rinse my barrels, and last laundry.

It's not really weird, but I always go Marker -> Mask -> Gear (Pants, jersey, boots etc.).

And for my marker its Bolt -> Barrel -> Marker Body (breech, bolt face etc.).

I dont think it is weird, but since everyone around me thinks it is weird, maybe it is. I clean all my hard goods with a toothbrush. Gun, loader, mask, tank reg, everything. I first wipe them down with my "dirty" microfiber, and then brush the shit out of everything with a wet toothbrush. It is practically the only way to get into most spots, and it keeps my stuff, ESPECIALLY grips, looking at their best. But I get comments every time I do it.

I just throw all my clothes + pack + shoes in the wash together first, and then while those are going, I clean and relube my bolt and the reg if necessary. Then I wipe the whole gun down and use a soft bristled toothbrush to get into the little places my fat fingers can't get with a towel. Then I rince out my pods and barrel in the kitchen sink.

Once everything is done, I but it all back into my cabinet in my garage stuffed with paintball stuff until next time.

I just bring it home and let it sit until I feel like cleaning it. Then take all my pods, barrel, and my tank cover in the sink and just let it soak. Then I take them out and rinse them. Wash my tank.

Then my gun. Bolt out, grips off, foregrip off, ASA off, Body screws of, split the body, clean everything, put it back together.

My mom does my laundry, suck it.

Haven't cleaned my mask yet...

I go almost every sunday.
When I get home I go up to my room clear off my desk.
Turn on my Ipod and blast to some tunes.
Then I strip, clean, remove all lube from my axe, re lube and re assemble.
Then I clean my mask pack and cleats.
Then I strip my hopper remove the batteries and clean it.
Then I clean my pods.
After that I put all my stuff back in my gear bag and put it on the floor in my closet.
Then I take a shower and get dressed. (Paintball showers are the best <3)
Then I throw my clothes in the wash.
Then I go on Facebook and say what a good day I had.
Then I get dressed and eat dinner.
Then I play Skyrim.
Then I text he GF till I fall asleep.
Then I wake up get ready go to school and hate my life waiting till next Sunday. :)

Every marker i use get completely striped cleaned and lubed before getting put away. I also wipe down the bodies with a oily rag as i find it keeps the paint from fading (my 13 year old Pro Carbine still shines).

Mask is always cleaned before leaving he field does not go into the micro fiber bag until its clean.

And hoppers are never really taken apart for cleaning unless it get really messy.

I clean my gear after every sunday on the washer and air dry it.
for the hard parts i use microfiber and water spray to wipe the paint and clean it, sometimes use q-tips and brushes to clean where the microfiber cant reach.
and i lube the marker once every month, nothing special or wierd, just like things clean and working good

I clean my mask off before I leave the field, then it goes in the microfiber bag. All of my paintball-wear (jersey, pants, socks, sandana) go into a garbage bag for the ride home (trying to keep my new car as clean as possible.

When I get home I take the contents of the garbage bag and throw them in the wash. Then I go and grab my pack/vest. In the summer I just spray it down with a hose and hang to dry off of the deck. In winter I soak it in the bathtub then let it dry in the basement. I then take my pods and rinse them in warm water.

Then on the marker. I remove the bolt assembly, wipe it all down, then relube the o rings, and use a q-tip to get paint out of any hard to reach places. For my prophecy I usually just take off the nose cone and wipe everything away with a cloth, but if I was shooting very oily paint then I'll remove the plastic shells and the tray and soak them in water.

Seems like a lot, but I know that if I don't do it as soon as I get home it will never get done.

I don't think it's strange to sacrifice a goat to the paintball gods for a successful cleaning. However my neighbors continue to complain.

For me I start with teh laundry and then go directly to my mask. After that I wipe down my gun and check how lubed the ram is. AFter that I take all the internals out of my rotor and throw them into a hot tub of water with my pods and other stuff. Each month I do a major tear down and go over everything with tooth brushes and q tips

Watching the British version of Top Gear, eating a sandwich and cleaning my gear on commercials is how I end my Sundays.

I don't know WHY they work, but they outperform anything on the market hands down...and they're MADE IN AMERICA.
