So I got a couple guys together to play in a three man beginner tourney yesterday (1-29-12) and we were SUPPOSED to take first.
We were all really dedicated, practiced the layout the day before, walked the field (no other teams did), had proper conditioning and everything.

Anyways, the tournament started and we were really dominating the other teams for the first three games of the prelims.
We were on fire until we lost to a team that we underestimated. After that, we lost the next two games and had a dirty hang for the last because the guy who hung the flag
had a shot between his pod pack from a prior game.

We ended up coming in 5th and not qualifying for the semis.
And the team that we first stomped on ended up taking 1st!!!

What a horrible day Posted Image

Not that I have any tournament advice but from what I've heard, double check your teammates before they hang, give the flag to whoever seems the cleanest.

2. Never underestimate anyone, ya never know. :)

oddly enough the same thing sorta happened at my first beginner tourney. We stomped the team that took second and took them all out in under a minute giving us the full score of 100, then we only won about 6 more matches and ended up in seventh by the end of the day, but they took second. They were also sandbaggers, I've seen them play that beginner tourney a couple times after that and know they are a D3 team. Fucking assholes.

I wouldn't trust someone who makes an ad like that to fill a cup of water.

Don't quit now. Finish the series. Don't leave the kids you already signed hanging, or no one will be happy.

It will get easier, it always does after your first taste of tourney ball.

Don't take your foot off the pedal till the last point is over next event.

You can underestimate fish, because fish are bad at paintball.

Well, for I asked my guys if they can do it.
One is saving up for an ego and the other is going on vacation...

Should I find two fresh faces or join another team?
