So there some pretty big high schools by me and i was thinking of seeing if the schools would announce it in their announcements or something to up exposure to the student body. Good idea?

As long as the school itself isnt sponsering it ( liability) they would probably be willing to mention it in the announcements. As I'm in the area I would probably be able wrangle up a team even. ;)

I still suck and barely know positions.

thats what my wife said when I first met her...

From my experience working with schools, they won't even take the liability of acknowledging such an event going on, affiliated or not. I run a high school club and I can't advertise or even give the name of the school for that reason.
