Looking to play ION at Skirmish this summer and was wondering what vest I should look into getting. I normally don't play large scenarios, but I wanted to be able to carry a hydration bladder and plenty of pods. Was looking into getting Dye's tactical vest. Has anyone had any experience using it? What are some other good vests?

Flurry Industries is known to be pretty good with their vests. And to hold a lot of paint I would recommend the Dreadnought (sp?) vest at Flurry.

Valken Echo vests are great! 5 different camo patterns, carries my wal-mart hydration bladder just fine (1.5L i think..), holds 6+3 pods. Battle Tested vests are great too but they don't come with your pod attachments you have to buy them separately so you end up paying more. As for Dye Tactical gear... I wouldn't get it. I've heard a lot of negative things about their tactical clothing, maybe their vests are a different story idk but it were me I wouldn't go Dye for your vest. Valken and BT vests work very well.

Check out the Full Clip Konflict vest. It's not molle beside one patch on the chest, but It has everything a vest needs.

Check eBay. I've seen molle vests go for about $20 (and they aren't cheaply made). After that, you can get whatever attachments you want. Do it right the first time, spend the money, and you won't regret it by having to start over later.

On a budget Full Clip is not your friend. It does hold up to extreme abuse as mine is a testament over and over again. Plus they have a lifetime warranty and it's made of the same materials that the military uses. If you're looking for something cheaper Dye makes a vest, I believe it's what Mike uses currently during scenarios. I've had issues with Valken products being subpar and their customer service being worse. So buyer beware there. Molle is the way to go yes you do have to buy the pouches seperately but the ability to customize as your needs change is invaluable.

Here is a tip that I hope you never have to use make sure your vest can be removed quickly in case of a medical emergency alrighty now on two the real advice Fullclip or Dye which ever you have money for
Stop worrying about how you look, and start worrying about how you play. Get out on the field and play paintball the best you can, not stand at home in front of a mirror trying to figure out if your jersey matches your eyes.

I have purchased 2 Broadsword Scenario Vests (My dad and I) from specialopspaintball.com http://www.specialop...rd-ix-vest.html

I have found them to be excellent scenario vests with plenty of intergrated extras (camelback pouch, sling mounts on shoulders, large man-girdle for support, molle front, and tightly sewn in 6 pod pack & air tank mount...which I think they are switching from sewn to MOLLE in the new updates (I LIKE MY SEWN IN...VERY TIGHT TO THE BODY)...give them a call and talk to them, I was ableto purchase a couple of the 2010 - 2011 models in plain black for a slight discount... Camo is over-rated in paintball anyway

They are easy to move around in and feel like the 30- 45 lbs of paint, accessories, water and air tank are light as they possibly could be.... for a little over $100/ea they came as a coplete package (radio, accesory, grenade pouches - ALL MOLLE) ... other Molle systems can run into the 250-350 range with all the add-on pieces. All I had to buy was the sling, pods, and a Black Hawk camelback. $150 Grand total for a complete scenario set up. CANT BEAT THAT !

If I could do it over I might try the Dagger vest instead... 2 less pods, suspender shoulders instead of the broadsword's velco.
http://www.specialop...s-dagger-x.html

I have had to take them to the seamstress to have the MOLLE side straps sewn in to keep them from popping loose during play... $15 and they are now PERFECT...at least for me.

I would recommend the Flurry Industries Dreadnought Vest. It is well built and has a lot of options as far as changing the setup of the vest.

I got 6 Broadsword/Recon vest a few years ago when they were being liquidated at something like $20. Very good vests. I'd recommend them.

$20? Helluva deal. The NC Star for $30 is decent for the price. I've been happy with my RAP4 one (I like their "soft" goods but aren't a fan of their "hard" goods).

Really good deal... probably why I bought so many of the damn things. Hell, I sold a few of them for a profit and still have a couple, I think, laying around my room somewhere in the bags.

I use an NCStar MOLLE/PALS vest for myself. It comes with a pocket for the bladder, except it doesn't come with it.

I also bought a Valken MOLLE pack, I would recommend that you buy a large one. I also use a tank pouch.

Here's a photo to help.

Posted Image

Great vest and pack, only grip I have is the front mesh is really thin and could rip soon. It is cheap though, but I would recommend you get a better quality vest. It's good for my recball play.

not to mention Velcro just sucks asshole

Look at the Tippmann vest, almost every MOLLE I see it 4-6 pods on the back, hydration bladder inside & tank pouch if you go remote. Why pay for MOLLE if your customization is the same as my customization?
The vest is MOLLE on the front, the is where I see a lot of different set ups. $90 for a 6+2, 5-6 pouches for the MOLLE front, and hydration pouch, ( idk if it comes with a bladder, I have 3 so not a huge concern to me)

I recommend anything from:

http://www.facebook....123287214377880

Excellent work and lifetime warranty. Rob will make anything you want to spec. I have some of his older Excalibur scenario vests back when he was running the Cops911 website and they are still solid vests 10 years later. I just ordered his Ranger vest in multicam with a few custom enhancements.

I haven't used it for scenarios because I've yet to play one, but a friend of mine has a 5.11 Tactical vest: http://www.511tactic...tical-Vest.html

Swears by it, and from personal experience everything I've ever had that was 5.11 was of amazing quality. It's just what they do. You can see a product description video below the basic product documentation.

Granted ION is over now but for future advice put the word out at you local field for what you are looking for.
I was out last night and wanted a quick fill nipple cover for my tank and they had a used MOLLE BT vest, 4 pods, remote pack, for $25. It was not exactly what I want but its MOLLE so it can be changed to whatever I need/ want.
