What airport? And with 3 people, how come you do not rent a car? Just curious and trying to help you out with solutions.

Chicago Midway and we may end up renting a car. I've never done it before so I'm not sure exactly how it works lol. but if we dont find any other means of transportation that is something I've considered.

Not 100% sure on IL law, or how old you guys are, but I believe that you have to be 25 to pick up a rental car. A couple of the guys I play college ball with ran into that problem. You could be 21 to reserve it, but had to be 25 to go pick it up.

If that is all the case, you may want to look at getting a train from Midway to Joliet. It is much easier to pick anyone up at the Joliet Metra station than it is driving all the way to Midway. I personally did it for a guy on a Friday for LL3 and it took me 4 hours there and back due to traffic and a car accident. The Joliet Train station is like a 10-15 min drive from the field.

For people using the Metra to get to Joliet. Keep in mind that there are only 3 trains per day to and 3 trains per day from. Catch a cab from Midway to the Summit Train station and you can get on the 5:15 PM, 5:50 PM, or 6:37 PM train for a 40 minute ride to Joliet. The return trip times are 5:45 AM, 6:25 AM, and 7:05 AM.
Those are the only trains available by on the Metra, so plan accordingly.

Honestly if you have to leave have a 4AM flight on Monday, you might be better off just renting a car.

Also, if you are staying at a hotel, then they usually have airport shuttles too. It costs money per person, but you might want to check that out too.
