So I have bought a DM8 from a friend and wanted to know what next with this thing. It has the og UL Barrel, it is worn. So that needs replaced thinking of going with a Freak, I just like interchangeable bores. But what is next after that? Critical trigger, BW bolt, or new board and eyes?

Keep the barrel. Uls are awesome barrels.

And the critical trigger for ul frames is awesome. So if you have the itch to upgrade I would say that first.

Why did it take so long to make a Shocker with the spring stock?

I think the UL barrel has some imperfections on the inside. :tdn: I get paint flying every where so IDK if it is because the gun isn't tuned yet or the eye pipe is beat up, but pretty sure it's the barrel. Just means I will have to try and get either another UL that matches the ano or try and get an after market anod to match.

Do nothing but update the board and get a new trigger. Everything else would be a waste in my opinion. If you really wanted to spend more money on a marker, you should instead sell the DM8 and buy a more expensive marker.

edit: Oh! And make sure you have the most recent eyepipe. That's the other point of failure with the DM8s. The eyepipes that originally came with it were sub-par.

If its a little messed up I think it would be a good idea to change it, a little can make a big difference. Before you start swapping stuff out though play with it first and see what you don't like and what you want to change. That way youre not wasting money on unnecessary parts.

I does if there is scratches on the id causing random shots. This is what I have going on. I put a Proto UL barrel I have on it and it shot tons better. So how do I get a new DYE UL barrel that matches?

Well obviously if there barrel has legit problems then yes, get a new barrel.

Since the marker appears to have a black fade around the bolt, I would just get a cheap black barrel.

I think the smartest thing to do, if that UL truly has issues, would be to get the Lurker Eigenbarrel. I don't think you'll need to worry about bore sizes if you have that barrel.

After all, if you're willing to buy the Freak, which if I'm not mistaken is black, then why not just get the cheaper Lurker instead?

you have a point KillJoy, great name by the way. I just wonder how hard it would be to match anodize colors. The front color, whatever it is called is so pretty.

I think it's called brownPosted Image

Looks kind of like a copper colour to me. And, it's probably not worth it to anno match it.

CP flow plug is a good idea. that way you can wrap your hand around the front of the gun without accidentally shutting off the air to the gun...

Play and see if there's anything you want to change, if there isn't then don't worry about upgrades.

He said that he thought that because his paint wasn't flying straight. With barrels, if you can't see anything wrong with it(scratches, bent, etc) chances are , there is nothing wrong

the barrel is junk. The guy I got it off of just threw it in the bottom of his bag and left it. Looks as if he shot rocks through it. I found that this is a 1 of 10-17 gun so I will have to get a new barrel and eye pipe and that's it.

Until we know for sure whether or not that UL has issues, I don't think any answer is right at this point. If the barrel does have legitimate issues, then the best advice that could be given would be to purchase a good cheap barrel, like the Lurker.

On the other hand, if the barrel has no problems and is totally fine, then the best advice that could be given would be to keep there barrel and not worry about purchasing a new one.

But since we don't know for sure the status of this barrel, I don't think we can guarantee that there is a wisest option for the OP.

No the barrel is no good. If I can I will take some pics for you guys. It literally looks like there were rocks inside the thing. I can feel and see deep scratches. I didn't go through it before I made this thread.
Sad because it is such an unique and pretty color.

My first stop is to see if I can find one of the other 16 barrels for sale, doubt it. I will end up with a Eigenbarrel.

I would like to ask Bazooka if it would be possible to match, I know it is a far reach. It would be worth it to me.
