So guys tell what guns you think need upgrades right out of the box?

IMO MacDev guns need a new trigger as soon as you get the gun

any smart parts gun.
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

And yes, Gordon is the sexiest manifestation of "to the front."

PE guns need the little $10 thumb screw for the feedneck.

Any gun that comes stock with those check it cage on/off asas.

really minor complaint here but the reg on the vanguard demon is really slick you almost need some sort of grip, and many will complain about the trigger on it as well, its not my favorite trigger but if your picky about triggers then ya replace it

I have a pretty good idea about what you are going to say, but have you ever used one of the check it on/off asas? I made one of my fingers bleed trying to turn the stupid thing.

The Impulse and 09 Impulse and especially the Nerve were fine out of box. Did the Imp shoot better with ups on it? Well yes of course but doesn't any gun?

Anyway my contribution to the topic. ALL DP guns need the macro fittings and line replaced out of box. Never mind half of them need a new noid out of box. Noid is not the largest parts kit they have btw.

Even though the 98c is an amazingly reliable gun... I believe, out of the box it needs a new barrel.

I would go as far to say that for recball Shockers don't need upgrades. Yes if you wanted to play in a tournament you would need a new board, but a stock nxt shocker will shoot semi fine. Also almost every PL shocker doesn't need upgrades. Everyone is trying to hate on Smart Parts, but the fact of the matter is, unless you specify for tournament play, most Smart Parts guns shot fine stock.

that convo could go on forever lol but PS hate will never stop so its w/e.

anyway if spyder and clones can be included you need a feedneck adapter at bare minimum.

Au contraire. The Axe's stock feedneck works just fine. Just because it is a popular one, doesn't mean it is a necessary upgrade.

A stock ion shoots great out of the box. A stock e1 will shoot fine out of the box. A macdev will shoot amazingly out of the box.

It's like a Toyota Corolla. It drives perfectly fine for a car. Will it compete with a Ferrari? No, of course not. It's the same with guns.

For most people, an Azodin Zenith or a G4 will be more than enough gun for 99% of players just like a Toyota will be enough car for 99% of drivers. In my opinion, upgrades aren't ever necessary as long as the gun holds a loader, tank, and shoots a paintball. If you don't like what the gun offers, upgrade to a new marker. Nobody would sink $1000's into a Toyota and expect Ferrari performance.

That is entirely my opinion on upgrades. If you want to upgrade your gun, go for it. I don't own a stock marker myself.

My favorite upgrades are the ones that change the feel of the gun. I'm a fan of drop forwards, so I usually put one on my markers. I also like to shoot my markers with high quality barrels.I wouldn't call these upgrades as much as settings. Moving the AC vents, the seats, or tilting the wheel in a car aren't upgrading, just tweaking to my liking. That's what I would compare a drop forward, a new barrel, or what not too. ASA's, regs, bolts, triggers, feednecks, etc, most stock parts on markers are rather good nowadays and even the cheapest guns are coming with things high ends of yesterday didn't.

I agree, and it's not because it needs "sooper dooper accurasee :dodgy:" I used a CP 1-piece on my BT-4, because I couldn't aim the gun well without a decent sized barrel.

Actually, I've never seen one at the field that didn't go down. I've actually seen some people go around trying to sell them on the spot at the field because they just don't want to put up with it. The one I shot wasn't that great of a shot quality either.

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.

ok seriously people theres a difference between things you dont like and things that dont work.

You have to replace the E1 feedneck because nothing fits it. You had to replace the Ion feedneck because nothing fitted in it. You have to replace DP macro fittings because they generally leak out of the box.

To my knowledge the shocker board wasnt known for coming out the box not working. Is the SP quarter turn ASA a bitch? Yes of course. Does it work? That ones also a yes.

just so were clear. things you dont like and things that dont work. Difference.

The original Impulse absolutely had to have a tape worm to correct first shot drop, and I believe that every gun that doesn't have a clamping feed neck needs to get one.
