It is a very close call. Have you seen Mikes video on the two markers? I would personally go with the fx but I can't decide for you.

Comes down to preference. PE is a great company and you could NEVER go wrong with them also the Etek IMO feels great! The FX seems to be a great marker but Ive never personally held one, but from what I here it shoots great, has a great OLED board. It uses a spring to return the Ram instead of using air. So it is a little better on air if I can remember correctly.

Both guns fell equally good in the hands, the FX has more features and is a little better on air but the etek is smoother

Personally I would take the etek3 over any dp gun. simple design, easy maintenance, good shooting marker. only complaint is its a little loud

The milling on the fx looks cleaner but the etek 3 is more reliable and over the years you can practically make it an ego.

Honestly, I'd say it's a toss up between the 2. I'd go Etek just because it's backed up by PE.

Infinity Legend, its much cheaper then either, shoots as well if not better then them, and the tadao board is awesome.

FX! Loved both of mine but its sssuuuccchhh a close call becuase you have the realiability of PE, but the features of the fx. Becuase of Dp's shity resale you can buy a fx for dirt cheap, like i wont be able to sell mine for more than 350
i rock a fx fusion

Etek 3 hands down 2 main reasons its planet eclipse and its an ego

Do explain the bold part please. From my experience with both guns, the Etek may look like an ego, but it is definitely not an ego.

Now, being a huge DP fan, i'm just gonna say, get the FX. mainly cause I personally own one, love it, and will be recommending it to friends for ages to come. Then again, I always fix any problems I find myself. So the whole backed by PE or backed by DP doesn't factor into my view point. If that is important though get the Etek 3 AM (not a fan of LT..don't know why) because PE is a better company now. They weren't always better (DP has gone slightly down hill of late). Other than that, they both are great guns, I like the FX cause of the board and ASA that it has.

Impressed that DP owner might have shot his teammates PE guns, from the ego 9 to the ego 11 and a friends etek 3 lt, and the fields trial etek 3 AM? I can tell you a lot about the differences between the ego and etek, and not just the things that someone picking the guns up and looking at them would be able to tell you. I can even tell you that the danger of an etek 3 Lt shattering on you is very real as my friend did it while playing some scenario ball, don't know why he bought another LT, as far as I can tell the AM is the better of the two versions.

Just cause I prefer DP markers over their PE counterparts does not make me stupid, just a bullheaded ass who refuses to change with the times ;)

Any one who thinks the dp fx is better on air need to think and use basic physics! Air to blow the ram forward and back means that very little air is used! Now when you have a spring to send the bolt back more air is used to send it forward! Making the fx no more efficient then any other air forward and back poppet! Ad least in that category! So i would say that overall go with the fx. It has an oled board, and not much kick, people who say that it has a little more kick than the etek 3 are also the ones who say the etek 3 has no kick at all, so the difference would be minimal if not unnoticeable? Also I've shot an ETEK 3 and can honestly say, its louder than the voice of god being thrust down to Moses as he climbed the mountain to retrieve the 10 Commandments! (over kill?) :P I can say honestly by the way because i own a Reflex and have shot both these markers. I'm a spoolie and like smooth so i know what to look for in regards to smoothness and which is quieter. Just like poppets know more about what to look for in a spool than a spoolie owner themselves! So in my opinion go with the fx, lol i forgot to mention it has a cheater board so you can fire 30 bps in a 12.5 cap for like 10 seconds if you don't like someone on the other team :P

Hahahahahahaha. Oh man. Your physics...Too funny. Sorry, I saw your first line of text and stopped reading. Please, before you claim to know physics go read up on springs in your physics text book again. Then come back. And re-read about how it uses zero air blowing it back, and the little bit extra is less than the amount used in an etek for the blowback.

Sincerely,

An engineer

(Not intending to flame, but his information is misleading)

Edit: Have since re-read his post. Most of his information is solid, just that first line is bothering me.

I would say a drone or an axe. Pros use the axe so you know your getting a solid gun, and the drone seems like a solid marker as well

Meh my physics teacher who likes to come pballing with me told me that, took his word for it! But hey everyone has their opinions. you might be right he might be wrong! I'm a historian in the making so i don't say anything that i "think" is true unless i have heard it from 1 someone else 2 studied and am confident.
