I was sitting in class today bored as heck and I thought it would be amazing to put a Paintball trigger on a Xbox controller! So you can like really actually trigger finger a semi-auto gun! I wanna know if it is possible or if anyone has done it!

Wait, you want to replace the Triggers on the Xbox 360 controller with Paintball triggers? I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what you're looking to do.

Yes Totally! And like reduce the trigger pull so you can walk the trigger.

I'm pretty sure you'd be able to do it. It's just a matter of, do you want to ruin a perfectly good Xbox 360 controller? You'd also have to modify the case of the controller to get the trigger to fit properly. Not to mention, put in torsion springs so you could change the trigger pull.

Actually, since the triggers are rotorary sensors you'd need to replace them with microswitches.

Bingo. You would need to remove the existing switches and replace them with a microswitch.

You guys are correct, that was an oversight on my part.

But seriously would it require a replacement of a micro switch? Why not just elongate the trigger allowing him to put both of his fingers on it and sort of walk it, not as effectively as a paintball trigger, but faster than the regular trigger.

Yeah I realize games have a ROF limit but I probably wouldn't reach it. I can shoot around 15 bps

Idk Maybe I think that is more for the bumpers or something but maybe! I think I will try it. Does anyone know of a cheap trigger but a ok quality?

It's not replacement of a micro switch but addition of one. The Xbox controllers use resisting rotary sensors, in simplest terms, it's a spinning sensor that is designed to have quite a bit of resistance compared to a micro switch. For instance, I took a spare trigger I had and modded it onto a spare Xbox controller and couldn't walk it worth fuck since it was a REALLY tough trigger pull to walk but if I put a micro switch on there it would be possible to truly walk the trigger.

I know this is an old post but I had to reply just incase someone really wants to do this. All the answers everyone gave are completely wrong and these people should do more research before even making a reply to the post. First off you do NOT need to replace any buttons/switches, all you have to do is make the trigger longer. Walk the trigger like a paintball trigger and you would be able to fire a semi auto like as if it was full auto. You will and can reach the ROT cap. Extend the trigger with a "toothpick" or paperclip, just about anything to make the trigger longer will work. Trust me I have done this and never had to replace anytihng inside the trigger. If you have ever heard of a scuf controller you will know that you can adjust the triggers and get rid of the "dead zone" where the trigger does not fire until a certain point, depending on the game, I have my scuf animal controller with modsticks pro triggers and they are set to act as if it were just a button without changing anything or adding anything to the inside of the controller. I will try to get the people over at ModSticks.com to make one and it will be absolute quality.
