Do you have a preference of Intel vs AMD or Nvidia vs AMD/ATI?

$700? I'd say stick with ATI. Not as good as Intel, but still very good at the fraction of the cost.

ATI not as good as Intel? Intel doesn't make GPU's. And ATI Doesn't exist anymore. They've been rebranded to AMD.

And AMD vs Nvidia, thier GPUs are mostly equal.
So my guess is you want AMD stuff? Radeon and Phenoms?
But since Intel just released Ivy, SB might go down in price in a bit, so I would recomend going Intel with SB in a bit.

Just an aside, Intel CPU's don't usually ever drop in price. They usually remain the same price until Intel phases them out. Unlike AMD, where once the newer stuff comes out, the old gen stuff drops a lot.

Really? I've seen some things drop in price before, it's usually not huge, but like $20-$50.

You need to make a public wishlist. Posted Image

And to Blades post, usually that happens when the retailers just want to unload what little inventory they have. As I've known it, they usually do that at a loss.
