Today I was just practicing with my team and it came down to a 4 on 1. I got run through (couldn't help it), and he put a ball point blank onto the top of my head. I didn't black out, but my vision blurred, ears rang, and lost "focus" or whatever you want to call it. After talking it over with a MD I know, she told me that hits like that are damaging to my brain. In essence, I just got bruised on my brain, and while there are no short-term effects, long-term increases in senility have been linked to what just happened to me. I now refuse to go out onto a tournament level of play without head protection, but what should I get? What's tournament legal, doesn't hurt my game, and yet provides the protection I need? I was looking at the Hundredth Monkey Turtle Cap, but those aren't available new anymore. I'm looking for something I can get within the week so I don't miss practice, etc.

You can wear a beanie or something, I find those help a little bit, but it might be a bit hot where you live right now.

I'm not going to make my own, and it was over 100 degrees where I played yesterday. Besides, a Beanie wouldn't offer enough protection anyway. A beanie underneath something tougher like a baseball cap maybe, but not just a beanie, and two layers isn't tournament legal.

I dont think predloc's are legal, sooo... some sort of bounce cap would probably be your best choice.

One of the guys I play with was wearing a padded beanie, when I asked him about it he said it was a break dancing beanie. Google it, a lot of colors, made well and at 20 bucks , worth a try.

My Markers:
