The Story

The planet Earth has been peaceful for years. In the last great battle, the empires of the United Asia joined forces with the Ekron Corporation to defeat the United North Americas. By taking control of the legendary Keys of the Internet, all communications, information, and even the very memories of the UNA people were lost to them. Without the Internet and all that it brings, Ekron quickly conquered what was left of the UNA armies. The time of Ekron was now.

In this era, there is no more war. Ekron has been able to keep the peace by controlling what can be seen, heard, and read. Since the beginning of time, the victors have written the histories. Peace was granted by sacrificing people individualism and old ways of thinking. The people of the UNA were a defeated people and now must become a part of the Ekron empire. To be a part of the Ekron Empire meant that people had to shed all parts of their previous life. All books, media, traditions, and even the UNA language were replaced with Ekron teachings. Those who refused were place into re-education camp; some did not survive the re-education process.

The process of re-education and adherence to Ekron law was in the hands of the Thought Police. These ruthless people were charged with keeping the citizens of Ekron in line with the Corporate ideas of Ekron. With no entity on Earth able to challenge Ekron, it simply continued on its path of ecological violation by continuing its unrestricted harvesting and refinement of fossil fuels. With no alternative, people were being forcing into a world that only knew fossil fuels. This also meant soon there will be no fuel left. The known reserves of fossil fuels would be soon depleted and the world will fall into chaos.

Once Ekron leaders began to realize the quickly diminishing levels of fuel sources, they began searching the Internet for answers. Being the masters of all knowledge, Ekron commanded the Thought Police to start searching through the old archives; including the secret and forbidden UNA archives files that were kept from the old defeated empire.

It has been generations since anyone in the Ekron empire was allowed read or speak the UNA language. The Thought Police was forced to recruited some of the old re-educated UNA scientist to help decipher the old archives.
Ekron thought all would be lost, until the research team consisting of loyal Ekron and the re-educated UNA scientist discover two promising entries in ancient UNA archive. They were of two highly classified but unidentified locations. Desperate to keep the Ekron empire from falling into chaos, the Thought Police immediately sent out exploration teams consisting of the Ekron and re-educated UNA scientist, and a small security detachment of Thought Police to the first of the two locations.

The first location was in an area known as the Southern Wilds; and the discovery exceeded their wildest dreams. It was an untapped source of fossil fuels that UNA had kept hidden away. It was never tapped because of UNA's transition to solar powered machinery. The Ekron scientist estimate that it could sustain the Ekron empire for at least another 50 years. The expedition notified Ekron leadership and harvestor teams were dispatched. The exploration team had an overwhelming feeling of confidence, and hoping for an equally wonderful discovery at the second site, the team rushed to the second location.

The team arrived on the largest of the Bikini Islands, and quickly established a base camp to start the search. However, the team exhausted their limited fuel supplies, and in the rush to the new location, neglected to resupply. This was only an inconvenience, and they communicated with Ekron suppliers, and was informed that they would be taken care of as soon as the new fuel deposit was secured.

The expedition leaders decided to reward the UNA scientist by allowing them to take a relax and enjoy the time gifted to them as they waited for supplies. After all, it is a deserted island, what could a bunch of old UNA scientist do?

As it turns out, quite a bit. The Bikini Islands was one of the control facilities for the "Fire in the Sky": SkyFire.

SkyFire was the UNA orbital defense laser satellite system that plagued Ekron during the old wars. The solar laser cannons can be fired from orbit, and would have the same effect as a nuclear weapon, destroying a city without the harmful radiation aftermath. The system was relatively intact, but offline. The old UNA scientist quickly realized what they had found and quickly plotted to keep it out of Ekron hands. The scientist gathered what information they could and had it saved to an encrypted storage device. The device was placed on an old solar power unmanned flying drone. Some of the old scientist were still in contact with the UNA underground. This information could fuel UNA's return to power. Shortly after the drone's departure, the UNA scientist cause the solar reactors powering the old facility to overload and destroyed the whole island in a nuclear cloud. There was no way UNA would allow Ekron access to SkyFire.

The single most powerful force in the universe has always been the indomitable will of the human spirit. Though unable to be seen in public, groups of UNA people gathered in the shadows and met in dark secret places to remember their histories, their traditions, and their old way of life. The UNA underground, which became known as the Shadow Force, planned to one day stand up and bring back the United North American empire. This is where the solar flying craft from Bikini Island was brought. The Shadow Force leadership quickly discovered the value of the craft's contents. If they could find the necessary components, UNA could reactivate SkyFire and blast key Ekron installation. A few incinerated fuel depots and with Ekron's limited fuel supplies, would cripple Ekron forces. UNA could take back the world in hours.

Now the race is on. Can UNA find the components for the SkyFire system before Ekron can secure the fuel resources of the Southern Wilds?

I'm still not 100% sure I can go, but it's looking better and better every day. I definitely want to make it make it again, so we'll see.

I hate to ask, but are you going to head up the TechPB Kill Squad this year if you do make it or should someone else take over the reigns?

At this point, I think it's safe to say I won't be able to make it. If someone else wants to take over the reins for the Kill Squad this year, they're more than welcome.

If I don't have to be in the field for this event, and I can go, I'd love to try my hand at leading a TechPB squad.

Hey Irish, if you are game, I would suggest at least hit up the California section and see who is interested in forming the TechPB squad. The sooner everyone plans, the better I always say! Plus, it's 3 months away! Posted Image

I'm already saving up for this event.
It is pretty pricy for a 14 year old but for someone who's shooting a pump, I think I'll be good if I carry some extra pods. Mommy and daddy won't help.

If there is a TechPB squad, I would like to join. Better playing with people I "know" so the mother won't be worried.

Otherwise make sure to get lot's of footage for me.

Still awaiting word on whether I'll be in the field again sadly :(. I may literally end up doing a show up/pay/play deal haha. Gonna try and get 3-4 other guys to roll with me, but if I do roll, I'd hunt out the TechPB guys!

Ok, cool. Thanks, that helps with my preparation.

I was thinking of getting the evil paint so that it would have a higher percent chance of breaking. Do you feel that is realistic advantage or should I just go for more cases of the $35 rec grade paint?

Oh gods no, avoid the cheap paint like the plague. I got that stuff last year so I could get more paint, biggest waste ever. All the paint was misshapen, dimpled, etc, and it was all leaking badly. I had entire hoppers full clump up on me during gameplay. I've learned my lesson, it's the good stuff or nothing.

hopefully this year, the paint isn't so bad especially with the cooler weather! I'm planning on the midgrade paint myself.

But for Rambo, I think you would be better off with Evil in your Luxe anyways.

Hey everyone, although this is a bit of a short notice, Gio (managing partner of Giant Sportz for those of you that don't know) has asked me to pass this along. He wants to have a scenario teams/commanders meeting on Saturday September 22 at HSP at 10am.

There is an agenda on what he wants to talk about, but at the time I am writing this post, I don't have it with me at the moment lol. Basically, he wants to tie up any loose ends, ensure that everyone involved is on the same page, talk about what to expect at the upcoming Decay and any surprises along the way.

Any questions, please email Gio at gio@hollywoodsports.com. Otherwise please reply to Chris IQ at chris@hollywoodsports.com and please CC: Gio at gio@hollywoodsports.com

In years past, due to a large number of players that show up, it's usually held at the banquet hall. In the following pic, where it says "Arcade" is the banquet hall. By the way, this is an old pic from their website, the turf field is now an airsoft field lol.

I am hearing rumors of a bunch of people pulling out of this event? Some uproar about teams? Has does anyone know about this? I am hearing second hand and don't know anything. I am kind of on edge as this would be my first scenario and heard mixed reviews about last year.

news to me as well, but I don't think that players pulling out should not be a reason for you not to attend this event. There was a scenario team captains meeting this past weekend, but due to prior commitments, I was not able to go. But from what I heard, nothing out of the ordinary.

By the way, which side will you be playing for? UNA or Ekron?

Hello my fellow players! With Decay of Nations coming up in just over a week and the weather here in Southern California is still very warm, I just want to post up this friendly reminder to start hydrating if you haven't done so (or at least considering to start hydrating this weekend).

The Weather Channel has forecast the weekend of Oct 13 to be in the low 90's. However, that does not mean to slack off in preparation for an intense weekend of play.

To keep up to date on the weather at SC Village, go to the Weather Channel website: http://www.weather.com/ and for the city, type in Chino, CA.

Again, start hydrating at least this weekend to prevent any heat injuries. Drinking only a day or 2 before the event will not be very helpful as the water will, in a sense, go right thru you.

Please pass this on to your fellow players that you know are going to Decay. It never fails that there are many players that suffer from heat injuries, especially dehydration, because they are not properly hydrated, been drinking highly caffeinated drinks or have been drinking alcohol (which is a definite no no)

One more thing, don't forget to make sure your gear is ready and in working condition. Don't want to spend the whole weekend fixing your gear....

Signing up tomorrow. Anyone have a favorite side?

lol the side I will be playing on this year ... UNA!

Sure seems that way or more than likely they will direct you to where you will be parking if you're not staying overnight

Alrighty everyone, Decay is 2 (or 3) days away! Hope you all have your gear ready, money to spend at the vendors and hydrating to prevent heat injuries!

Speaking of which here are the projected forecast for the weekend in Chino, CA:

The Weather Channel:
Oct 13 - 80 degrees
Oct 14 - 92 degrees

National Weather Service:
Oct 13 - 81 degrees
Oct 14 - 89 degrees

Accuweather:
Oct 13 - 79 degrees
Oct 14 - 85 degrees

It's going to be warm, but not as blistering hot as years past :)
