I actually had to do this over the weekend. Really nothing to worry about. Could take awhile to empty, depending on the size. My 72ci took a few minutes to empty.

not that loud, depending on your marker if it has an on/off ASA with a twist knob you can just not screw the knob in all the way so instead of blasting out it just leaks out. but that will take longer.

If you have an ASA you can screw in the tank then slowly turn the ASA on and the air will come out slowly.

How much air is in the tank? If there isnt too much you can press the pin valve down with your fingernail or something and let the air out.

yea its gonna be loud but its the only way to do it. if it really bothers you that much then put a pillow or heavy blanket over it or something to muffle the sound.

well it's still going to empty it,

i guess you could remove the tank o-ring then screw it into the ASA, that could work.

wtf? Please don't say things you dont know anything about. when you degas a marker, itll only put out what the reg is set at. never more.

no... by that logic wouldn't filling up a tank cause it to blowup aswell?

i haven't ever heard of condensation causing something to explode.

No.

well degassing is releasing 850 psi give or take the reg, and filling is putting IN 3000 or 4500 psi, so yes by that logic filling would blow it up aswell.

well it is releasing only 850 psi give or take the reg, but it isn't that loud. i'd say probably about as loud if not quieter than an older style vaccum cleaner.

No, loosening the bonnet will not make it explode either, if you loosen it just 1 turn in, itll bleed out. secondly, with air inside , it is almost impossible to loosen the bonnet.

nothing will make these tanks explode except oil into fill nipples or using a sledgehammer. collby just stop trying to scare people.

The bonnet has grooves cut into the threading to release air without turning the tank into a rocket. By the time you fully unscrewed the bonnet, the air would already be completely gone.

Just buy yourself a cheap on/off Asa that you use to bleed out tanks, screw you tank into it, and tell you sister that you will do something for her if she does it, walk out of the room, shut the door, run like hell until it starts to drain because when it starts is the worst part
