LL6 will be my first LL, any recommendations?

hydration is key!! Camelbacks are awesome to have. We had a fellow baller pasted out at our staging area due to heat exhausting, lucky he was okay.

Planning on being there way earlier Friday so I can play and I set the goal of building a tank.... that way my buddies who aren't interested in running all weekend can give me some cover fire.

As of last paycheck....137.13 in the LL6 fund....

1) The date is not set and the event may not even happen.

2) Obviously the best part is cuddling with all the mods.

1). I can't imagine it WOULDN'T happen, but thats a definite possibility...

2). I will have to remember that for next time, sadly the only thing I got to cuddle was my aching muscles after 2 days of kick ass play last year!

We were staged right next to the mods and it was nice to put some names to faces.

What would a good option for lodging, like which hotels are cheap yet still pretty nice?

Also I am not sure if i will shoot 2 or 3 cases, Do you need to preorder paint or can you just pay for an extra box there?

You can pre-order paint for at a cheaper price then when you get at the field.

As for lodging, my team and I stayed at the TownePlace Marriott. Robot0Ninja and I got a studio room for $100 a night which we split

Get a hotel on exit 127 on Houbolt Road. Heroes is across the street and is a must at Living Legends. Paintballers from all over the States and the World hang out there all weekend. You can buy paint all weekend so you can order conservative if you want but it will be more expensive on game weekend.

Most likely going to be there! Have been doing workouts and the only expensive thing I have to buy is my CCM T2 but that will be in a few weeks! Then it's just practicing everyday and playing as much as I can!

I loved the Fairfield Inn. It had a pool (didn't use), good breakfast, comfy beds, and a decent room for about $110/night. I'll be most likely using my electro, and going with some friends. I may want to get 3 cases again, but who knows.

It's ok, we were totally planning a raid on the Fairfield Inn's Pool on Sunday night for a bit, just burst in there and use the pool, then head back to the Towneplace Marriot...

and to Jackal, that was an awful pun (but funny lol).

The townesplace is around the same price, and was much nicer. I'd definitely suggest staying there over the fairfield.

Last year was awesome, I plan on repeating everything. Let's all just hope they get some real paint for LL6. Like Valken. I had no problem with the paint- because luckily I swapped it all for the Marbs. Did you hear me CPX? Make SURE you have good paint at LL6. I'm sure Valken would be happy to supply some good paint.

I just think that someone would have thought that super-fragile paint + woodsball=can't shoot shit cuz your paint will break open on a small concentration of pollen in the air.

Can we talk about my Rotor instead? Not one single issue the whole weekend.

Also, the Evil was shooting fine out of my Impy (apart from when my bolt was being stupid, but that's another matter), then out of my mech Ion without problems.

Also do you think that there would be a way for PBA to have a live LL coverage kind of thing. I have a few ideas but class is ending so i cant type them right now

Question to all the vets: Would you suggest some sort of tac vest for the event w/ a built in hydration pouch in lieu of a pod pack that just wraps around the waist?

Either go with a vest or buy a camelback and wear it with your pod pack. It is a necessity out there.

Yeah I made the mistake of forgoing a camelback on my vest, in lieu of having a couple of "Water Pods" that were like these plastic pod looking deals that had screw tops. Lost both of them in the first insertion, and was hurting the rest of the weekend. I was dousing my shirt and headband in water to stay cool as i ran around the field.

I wore a bike camelbak and my critical pack last year. Worked well but I think I'm gonna go with a vest this year to distribute weight better and secure everything better

Vests are nice to have. This year was the first out of three at LL in which I used my pod pack and it wasn't all that bad. They also have water pods and such that you can buy so you don't need a whole vest setup to stay on the field.

My dad had a couple of biking camelbaks so I took one. They work great. I dont think i ever was extremely thirsty the whole weekend. It can sometimes get caught on your pod pack and feel weird, but thats a sacrifice to take to keep hydrated!

The_Economist, on 22 Apr 2013 - 11:56 AM, said:snapback.png

Bacause you have to point your gun at the sky whenever you reload. Just like you have to press your back flat against any kind of cover you may be using, and you have to lift your mask whenever you have something important to say, even if you are under fire from the other team.

Sheesh, what kind of paintball have you been playing?

Walmart or Target sells a 20-25 dollar hydration pack. Works great and holds plenty of water, comes with just the right size backpack too.

I'd reccommend a vest with pockets on the front and pods in the back. This way you can stuff things in the pockets if you have to and the wieght will be distributed better.

It also allows you to carry a pistol with first strikes :)

And MZ I've played at PBE a few times this year and have not run into you (i think?) So if I don't catch you out there before LL6 you're gonna have to stop by our staging area
