If anything, the older Honda cars are better because they don't make their engines the way they used to. Just find one that's unmolested and has around 100k - 150k miles.

One thing I didnt tell my mom though is that the engine that came in the 2000 models is considered "rare," and is apparently the most expensive to repair.

Although, I probably would be saving $10,000 by going with a 2000. It also looks so much better.

Of any car right now though, I probably would take the new FR-S. Its basically the generation of the ae86 (one of my favorites), and it's RWD. If only it didn't just come out I probably would be able to get it.

By any car I meant realistically..

I have a 2008 Civic Si coupe... I drove it off the lot and have since put 130,000 miles on it! Still runs like a champ! I go to a LOT of paintball events around the country, and it's a great road-tripper... I'm a big guy too (6'6" 270 lbs.) but I fit in it fine... 6 speed manual 2.0 liter engine pushing 198 horses... On a car that weighs nothing...

Hondas are great cars... I want to trade mine in for a new Honda Odyssey minivan though :)

Hey, I guess I'm getting old!

I'm about 6'3" and I barely fit into my car.

I have the seat up a good bit so I can steer with my knees, but even with the seat back it's a tight fit.

The other day I went through a drive through and I had such a hard time getting my wallet out. The guy started laughing at me.

Jesus fuck, it's hard to find a nice looking Civic Si without it being molested. Saw a 2000 one today, and my dad really liked it. Mom agreed. I just may be getting a 2000 Civic Si or a 2000 Prelude.

Any of you guys have a swap in your car?

Badass, I made council.

If you need the car for basic transportation, stick with the original engine. Engine swaps bring about many little problems that are undersireable if reliability is a concern. If it's a project car, do whatever you want.

Exactly why I'm only going to have a swap when I make a project Civic for fun. I'm thinking a 4th gen sedan.
