I've been super busy lately, I got back from a youth conference (lots of rockets ;) ) I have been doing lots of school and some other miscellaneous things. On another note, I won't be able to go paintballing this weekend because I have to go to a fundraising dinner. Which kind of sucks because I haven't gone since August.

.I never know what to put in these things.

Tournament this weekend. Absolutely clueless to the location of the fish, but you never know in the fall...

Look for transitions in the bank (rock to gravel, dirt to rock, etc.) and fan cast shallow cranks, spinnerbaits, or even A-Rigs is that is what fish in your area will hit. When fishing a new spot, always stop a little way out and throw a 'search bait' like the ones listed above, and fan cast it (one cast directly to your left, then in increments all around to your right.) After you do that, move into your desire spot. Don't waste time with presentations that take a long time, like punching.

Yep, went pre-fishing and the fish were not very active... im going to throw spinner baits and swimbaits all day.

I know that feeling. We had a massive drought last year and a lot of fish died. Then winter came around and you would think that there weren't even fish in the water.

Had a pretty WTF moment when i went fishing today.

i was fishing the local lake and nothing was biting, so i decide to throw a fresh 7 inch worm in the deep water in front of the spillway and something HUGE took it and i fought it for about 3-4 minutes and i get it about 10 feet away from the shore and it started rolling on the bottom and the hook popped out and i pull it out and all that is left of my worm is a little remnant of it on the hook. Now let's recap, this was no bass, it did not fight like one, it had TEETH and it was BIG it made quite a large swurl whenever it came near the surface. Strange fish have been pulled from this lake before, and i'm trying to figure out what this was, it seemed like it had a large, tall profile and it was dark. HALP MEHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a musky or a giant pike, they almost look like a barracuda.

Hit the pond this weekend, went out for about an hour and caught 1, and had 2 short strikes.

Oh i forgot to mention, There is no Muskies or Northerns on long island, just pickerel, but this fish was not slender like a muskie or pike it was tall-like. over the summer i saw a guy catch a pacu from that lake. also it is rumored that a Freshwater Wolffish and albino catfish reside in there too. also i caught a channel catfish there too. They are not native to Long Island

Hmmm, sounds almost like a lake trout, but you wold have to be in really deep water, or freezing cold water.

This lake is about 7 feet deep at the most and is only about maybe 2 1/2 acres, there isin't even any trout of any kind in there, but i might just do that on my own

Well you said you pitched the worm in deep water so I was just guessing. I have no idea though, catfish don't have teeth and I haven't heard of those other fish lol.

It's the deep water of that lake, besides the area in front of the spillway, the rest of the lake is only about 1-1/2 to 3 feet deep. Most lakes on long island, except for a few glacial kettle-holes, are all dammed lakes that are usually very shallow. the kettle-holes are about 50 feet deep each and have acctually quite a few different species that have been introduced there, such as walleyes, hybrid stripers, and i think a few tiger muskies.

Also there is only a few major rivers on long island and this is one of the smaller rivers, it has two lakes next to eachother, but they are not connected, and they empty out into the Forge River. Around here we just call them the twin ponds. the small one i fish from is a secret honey hole, nobody fishes there. and is full of Bass, sunnies, carp and a reproducing population of koi and goldfish. the larger lake next to it completely dwarfs it as it's about 20 acres and has almost nothing in it, mostly because it has been polluted by the 6 duck farms that used to be on it. the only fish i have ever caught there is just Brown Bullheads and maybe a sunnie. but it's great because the duck farms have been gone for almost 3 years now and the lake is starting to clean up so maybe in a few years we'll be seeing some bass showing up there.

Yeah I went to see my Grandpa and he had just got back from deer hunting, he said they had 7 guys and got 5 bucks, but no does. He saw 2 does that he couldn't shoot because it was in the wrong sector that he wasn't allowed to shoot them in he saw a third that he could have shot but couldn't because the brush was too thick. And my friend shot a big deer about a week ago.

.I never know what to put in these things.
