Click the CPU-Z link in my sig.

What is with the shitty RAM speeds? For such a kick ass CPU and motherboard (as well as graphic cards) you have slow RAM!

all my legos are stored at my parents hose... so that wont be happening....

For RAM you are suppose to double it, so it is actually 1600mhz.

Click my sig, it's pretty good. Good enough to get at least 50-60fps on any game I've tried maxed out. I need more ram though, I idle at around 7...

I find Vista to be just as good as 7. As long as you have the service packs and all updated drivers, it is rock solid.

Vista is solid. People saying it sucks are on the bandwagon. I would take it over XP any day.

my laptop has:

intel core i5 @ 2.40 Ghz
8 gigs ram
750 gig hard drive
Whatever video card HP puts in their laptops

I say it sucks and I'm not on the bandwagon. Trust me I have Vista on my laptop, home premium 32bit service pack2 and it is terrible. It's atrociously slow! My laptop's specs are 1gb ram, intel core duo 2ghz processor, and like 100 gbs of hard disk storage. My old computer running Xp with pentium4 processor and 504 mb of ram runs at least three times as fast as my laptop.

Other computer run XP? XP's requirements are lower.

For all MS's posturing about Windows 7 running better on low end hardware than XP, I've not seen it. I've had machines run perfectly fine on XP and choke with 7. For most situations, Vista = 7 performance wise.

Vista's problem wasn't that it was a shit OS. It was a decent OS being loaded on shit hardware. That combined with the new driver model (an overall good thing) and UAC (Vista's only real "problem" IMO) created a bandwagon of Vista hate.

You can't just willynilly switch OS'. You have to make sure the Drivers are available first.
EDIT: If you're already running 32 Bit just upgrade the RAM instead of going backwards with an OS that you can't get licenses for anyhow.

Maybe with the GPU, but seriously why the hell did you go with a 550w PSU?

Nothing wrong, it will be fine, but I like to future proof with something 600w or more.  That way you will be ready for any reasonable upgrade as long as it's not like Quad SLI.

It's like buying a good case so you can use it for many builds.

This. Just makes more sense from a builders perspective.

Don't hate but I have OSX and Windows in a dual boot. I use Windows 7 64bit for games but I really just prefer OSX for everyday things. 768o.png
