i like that instead of doubling the spring force for a 20 round mag, they split it into two 10 rounders.

the devil is in the details here. the switching system has to be flawless, and the mags have to be good. the guns success will hinge on that.

I also really like that the stock doesn't come off the top, but rather they dropped it down a few inches for mask clearance.

This looks like the ideal big game and scenario marker. You have the hopper for suppressing fire and the first strike capability to spread out for when its needed.

I'm digging the lowered stock. Seems like they actually took aiming (with a mask on) into consideration when they designed it.

There could be a problem with trying to use a normal loader and then switching to First Strikes on the fly, the vlocity of the First Strikes would be WAY too high. But if you chrono for FS rounds and then switch to regular paint on the fly, your velocity with drop significantly.

Another issue with the Mtac is that it didn't do anything a normal speedball gun did except for the right feed. It weighed a ton, the stock gets in the way if you use it, why bother?

Kudos to Dye for actually building a proper gunfighter's milsim gun.

This will be the death of Crap4.

My Questions for the DAM:
Which bolt system did they use? Rail, Reflex, DM, NT or a new design. I really hope they went with the Rail bolt system. It can run CO2, would keep the costs down, and is very smooth.
Can it run an Air-Thru or 13/30 tank stock setup? I see it's internally running the air line, I hope Dye was smart enough to allow that.

Eh, I don't know about that. I like my metal, much rather have an extra pound of weight just for knowing its metal. I'm not saying it should all be metal, but at-least the main contact points, if the gripframe and forgrip are plastic its instafail really, I hate holding onto plastic. Besides this looks really cut down, the M-TAC was huge.

I don't see why it being metal would be bad, cutting the tank drops 2lbs right there.

It most likely uses the DM since its called dye assault matrix.

I want one of these even though its proably not the most practical marker to own.

I still stand by "Nothing's wrong with plastic" but, I totally get how some folks prefer the weight/feel of metal. I stil say it has to be done right (i.e. TM-7 bad, SP-1/G1 good)

You would have to probably chrono the fsr around 295-300 for the paint to be a useable velocity. Whats the fps difference?

The dye cam one looks amazing.

This is amazing to see cause this could lead to a macro less dye tournament gun. The DAM runs with no macro and if they were able to integrate the hyper style reg into the grip they have a winner assuming that the gun is just as smooth as all the DM's. I' just want to see the price I expect close to 1000 but If it's a mid end like the Etha then there winning. It is so versatile. Can't wait to heat more about it.

From my experience it's usually in the range of 30fps.

Not bad if you're chronoing 280 with first strikes and going to regular paint, but it becomes a problem when people chrono with regular paint to save money then put the FS in.

Yeah, and I've seen refs not know the difference at chrono lines. I've had to get them to make sure people are chronoing with FS rounds if they're using dual purpose guns like that.

This is gonna give MilSig a run for their money.

As we all know we won't know how good this thing until its been out for a while but if it is as good as the video shows this will destroy Milsig. Having owned one, a paradigm-it was a great looking piece of junk. Looks like a great product, dye great to see you put something good to marker market that's not just a retread of last years model with some new decals, colours and slightly different milling.
