Title has my question, and this has my explanation. So,I was set on buying a mini, and was looking around a bit on here and ebay, when I saw an Etek 2 going for about $200.And that just so happens to be the price point at which I was going to buy a mini. So,now I am very undecisive on which one to get.Basically, which one is more reliable, more efficent, more sexy(etek),and overall a better gun.

P.S.-I am poor, and it took me about 3 months to save up for this, and that is why I am asking.

P.P.S-Before anyone asks, yes,I have all other gear necessary to play paintball.

None, they're all terribad.

Look for a DM6, takes a gigantic shit on any of those, but it might take a bit of scavenging to find one at $200. The DM, internally at-least, has remained unchanged forever, the DM6 is pretty much a DM12 without the eyepipe and sexilicious ergonomics, and a crappier trigger. If you cant find one at $200 (shouldn't be that hard though), look for a Shocker, people pretty much give them away on PBN.

Etek 1, I really like mine. It is not nearly as loud and kicky as people say, if you do buy it I would shoot a couple over a chrono to see if it shoots over 200 fps

The noid has a delicate diaphragm in it. If ruptured, you cannot attain any real velocity without repairing it. It was an issue with older PE poppets...since rectified (etek3+, ego9+ iirc).

So is that their only bad flaw?

Cmon guys, give the Mini some love. My vote goes for the Mini, just so long as it's a 3rd gen. Only flaw is the ASA which isn't on/off. A simple 80$ fix though. Good luck in your purchase :)

I refuse to love the mini. It's like the axe, but smaller, and I already hate the axe.

I can't say much for the Etek 1 or 2, but i never really liked the Etek 3's i've shot. I had a Mini for a while, used it since I Got it cheap and enjoyed it sort of. I upgraded to an Axe and was much much happier. Traded my Mini for a TPX.

Are there any other good used guns that can be had for roughly $300?

And I have decided against the mini because it doesn't look or feel too "comfy".

I'm not experienced in the used market but I do know that the GoG Extcy and 2011 PMR are great markers in the price range of the Mini.

Etek ones and twos are nearly the same thing...

Out of the options given i vote mini. It is more efficient, quiet, and the mini if it does break is MUCH easier/cheaper to fix then just about any gun on the market...

Minis are one of the most underated guns on the market right now. They get a ton of flack for being a perfectly good shooter.

"You can't break a man the way you break a dog or a horse. The harder you beat a man, the taller he stands. To break a man's will, to break his spirit, you have to break his mind."

the marq is the best bang for your buck hands down... shoots like a victory for cheaper...

Are they hard to maintain?I always though BL guns seemed harder to maintain than other guns.
