My friend currently owns an etek 4 with a cure 4 bolt, a APE Rampage oled board, a boomstick carbon fibre and a PE Pops ASA for his etek 4. Would an etek 4 with all of this on it be better than a stock ego? Thanks.

(P.S Im looking to get one of these options)

Not compared to an Ego 11. The fact that the Ego has the special solenoid automatically gives it the edge. Everything on the Etek is just trying to make it more like an Ego; just get the Ego itself.

Go with the Ego 11. All an Etek 4 will do is make you wish you had an Ego lol.

What sort of advantages would the ego have over the etek? (EX: Accuracy, sound etc.)

From firsthand accounts, the Ego 11 will be a bit quieter and smoother than the Etek.

Due to the better solenoid?

Yeah, you can use the adjustments to tune the gun to your liking. Plus, if you feel like upgrading later on down the road, PE has the DART kit, which is supposed to make it even better.

What about an Etek 4 with these upgrades over an Axe or say a Macdev drone dx?

Take the etek 4 in that case.

an ETEK will never be an EGO no matter what you put on it...

In mid ends, price for pound, the etek 4 is probably the best out of the box and with those upgrades the only thing that could match it would be possibly a bossed axe but that in itself would be close. But an ego beats the hell out of an upped etek or axe any day of the week especially with the dart kit in it.

Why not?

Just letting you know all markers shooting 300 fps with the same paint will have the same accuracy. Its the same for barrels as well as long as the finish is of a high quality it will be just as accurate as an after market barrel.

Let me put it this way, assuming your friend bought everything new. He now owns a roughly $900 mid-end marker that still shoots like a mid-end. If you had $900 to spend on a marker alone you could get almost any high end marker used for that much and in most cases less(excluding the newer ones i.e. Geo3, CloneGT, DM13 etc) Seems like a pretty easy choice to me.

And it will never sell for anything remotely close to that, I might add.
