What is the best settings to tune a DM12 with bw bolt? I got it used and it seems to have about 20 cases through it. Ill have access to a chrono this weekend; I also saw mikes video a while ago but I dont think I fully understand what I set the HPR pressure before I go to set the LPR pressure.

don't worry about setting the HPR exactly on your first turn out. 4-5 turns out should be plenty, you can fine tune it afterwards.
DM's are some of the only guns where you can honestly set the LPR perfectly without ever even needing a chrono or pressure tester.

to sum up the video:
1. set your HPR to 3-5 turns out from all the way in.
2. turn your lpr all the way in, turn the gun on, and turn the eyes off.
3. slowly start turning the LPR out until you see the gun cycling properly and the bolt is fully moving back and forth.
4. get a chrono and shoot a few balls. from here, you only need to adjust the HPR to get the right FPS. your LPR can stay put unless you get bolt stick or drop off.
5. if you get drop off, bolt stick, FSDO, then adjust the lpr 1/4 turn higher until it stops.

First thing though is set your dwell correctly before doing lpr and turn off fsdo. Be in a warm place. Turn up the hpr to an operational pressure. Adjust lpr until your bolt cycles nicely. Then set fps with hpr.

no, thats wrong actually.
you should ideally do it outside or close to playing conditions.
if you set it in your 70 room and its 40 outside, you will end up setting your LPR too low. for example, i can get my dm7 shooting perfectly at an LPR of 3 turns out if i set the gun up in my room and keep it warm. thats 2 full turns BELOW stock.
if i left it outside for 20 minutes, the gun wont even cycle.

i hint at that in my video, but i should've stated it a little more clearly, thats the reason i shot the video outside.

For me I just turn up the dwell when it's cold. I don't adjust the lpr.

that usually does work, but if you're starting fresh and resetting everything, then you have to account for the temperature.
usually this doesn't matter, but if theres a huge difference in temperatures between where you set it and where you're playing then, it can.

but yea, like you said, if your LPR is already set properly, turning your dwell up 3-4 clicks should be all you need to do.
