In 2012, Houston heat was formed when a couple of people came together with a decent amount of money to pay some of the biggest stars in paintball to play for them. They then went on to win the last to PSP events, along with the season. Would you consider this cheating? Or just attempting to make a super team? Should PSP have allowed this? Just want to hear your guys' thoughts.

How is it cheating? All they did was create a team full talented people. Why would the psp not allow it?

Every team has done it, or something very similar throughout the years. Most often to win... I mean it is kind of the point to a competition.

Dynasty had SUPER dominant years, Philly had a dream team at one point too, even further back was Aftershock.

is it cheating when the Yankees buy the best players in Baseball?

Cheating for The miami heat to aquire 3 super stars on their roster to win championships?

All paintball teams that are "recognized" have done this.

I think it was interesting, starting with a team from scratch, and then end up winning the World Cup in the same year. Plus, tons of teams do this all the time, hence the whole contract signing and such with players and teams. It was a bold risk of them, but hell, it worked. That was kinda awesome.

it also gives a new standard of the best almost. kind of like this is who the new team to beat is.

I actually enjoy the Fact Heat has a stacked Roster. It will make other teams stack there roster, if anything I love "All-Star" Teams, especially ones like Heat that can't win a tournament let alone take 3rd! :D

^Teams got wise and stacked their rosters up.

Impact X-Factors, Ironmen.... and it's just funny, that none of them have placed beyond 3rd.

i think its a good thing for the sport if the player are being paid to be good it will influence more competition and more money being spent on the sport and hopefully more sponsors

I couldnt say it any better, Praetorian.
I was going to reference the Yankees, the Heat, the Patriots, etc...

Teams that have the money to spend to bring the talent in...good on them.
Now...teams that do this, appeal to my underdog side, and I enjoy seeing them struggle and lose once in a while.

Actually the NBA commissioner does block some trades that would create an unfair advantage for example the trade of chris paul to the lakers which would make a super team with Kobe bryant chris paul paul gasol and andrew bynum. I think psp should have some type of regulation to how the teams are made up like salary caps and etc. But on the houston heat being a bad influence. I think they are an even better influence showing that sometimes you need to do even more to win but that is just my opinion

It's more about having a team chemistry than it is having a group of all star players. Sure, being amazing at what you do is always a good thing, but paintball is a team sport and it takes all 3, 5, 7, or 10 guys to work together to make themselves champions.

At the pro level everyone on the field is fully capable of winning games, it's all about who is playing the best paintball as a team.
