Just put what you believe success is and meet the word requirement. 250 words is like 2 paragraphs.
IE for me success would be being able to provide for and make my family happy, so I would write about that

some people may value success as having a million dollars in the bank, others may say success is a closer relationship to their "God", some may say success is simply being healthy, some may say its having a happy marriage.
I think the teacher is trying to see how YOU define success, what your definition is.
My personal definition of success is balance. A balance between your work and family is to me, what defines success. I know tons of people who make 6 figures that never see their wife or kids. Having balance, is what I consider success. When everything is in balance, you make just enough money to pay the bills, but you can still spend time with your wife and kids, while still doing hobbies and things you love, while being able to have some physical activity to stay healthy, along with good eating habits, that's balance, and that's what I consider successful.
Money comes and goes, one year you make $100,000 the next year you are unemployed. Money DEFINITELY doesn't define success. I know lots of rich people who are paranoid, lonely and miserable.
So I think it's a probe into your values as to what you consider valuable in life.
