So were are going to an event this weekend at SC Village and its looking like rain. I have all new equipment, marker, hopper, etc. Is there anything I would need to do to my gun for water, or will it be fine? thanks

it should be fine, just remember to wipe it off now and then and dont drop it in a puddle ;) and dont use a speedfeed unless you have a rain lid :P just out of curiosity though what gun is it?

Hockey tape around your barrel's porting then attach electrical tape on top of the hockey tape.

Hockey tape does not leave residue and the electrical tape is waterproof.

Those teeny little holes in your barrel are called porting. It's best to keep them somewhat covered if you're in pouring rain for very long.

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.

You can tape up disruptive barrels while still retaining the whisper quiet sound signature for rainy days.

Well, considering I'm in Ohio, a trip to Charleston for Disruptive would be inconvenient. I'd prefer a shooting video, one without tape, one with tape, and then with another barrel for comparison, or the control, if you will.

Start your slides alot earlier than you normally would. You'll be amazed how far you can go on wet grass.

Negative. Ports have nothing to do with accuracy, they only affect sound signature.

It's entirely possible, but you heard wrong.

Things that affect accuracy with normal paint include
1. paint imperfections/ quality
2. Barrel cleanliness
3. Paint cleanliness (oily paint leads to an oily barrel).

Love my SL-68II for rain play. Unported 12" brass barrel and a shake and shoot loader mean only rain day prep I need is to put the visor on my mask or wear a hat.
