It would be easier to mod the SFT body to accept an NXT vASA than trying to mod the vASA itself.

The NXT vASAs have a little "alignment nub" sticking out the top, and the screw sits behind that. With the SFT vASAs, they just screw in right in the vASA itself. If you want to put an NXT vASA on an SFT shocker body, you would either have to drill out the vASA, or just drill and tap a new hole behind the front vASA hole on the SFT body.

I think I'm going to just buy a vA I'm not going to mess with that. So for the noid. Can I change it out with an humperys with the upper board or do I have to use the same type that is Soldered into the gun!!

A Humphrey solenoid does allow you to simply unplug the upper board, however a Parker solenoid has the upper board soldered on. The upper boards are the same except for how they attach to the solenoids.

Well I'm asking would it be Easier to replace both the noid and upper board with a humperys. If its possable, or just replace the noid on the with a new Parker noid.

I have a VA I could send you.

As for the noid, there are a series of step by step images/videos that ydna put out a long time ago if you need to service it.

Humphrey noids are actually quite easy to service, you just need to ensure you put it back together properly.

I need a va but the noid is bad on the new gun I got. It's a Parker noid and I would rather use a humpery noid because their simpler to use and since I'm already replacing I'd figure I would get both of those in one shot.

The solenoids themselves are nearly identical in operation, the only functional difference is how the boards are attached, so unless you're changing boards, neither is simpler than the other.

You can try to rebuild it and see if it'll work. Lots of times people will overlube the system and gunk up the noid until it will no longer cycle - it'll save you money.

As for the Shocker owners forum, it's pretty unpopulated. lol

Ok just a little up date. I got the gun in yesterday. I have a VA in the mail ( thank you hero) and I'm working on a cp on/ off Asa and an cp reg off of eBay.

The biggest question is how would I fix the Parker noid, if it can be fixed.

Ok guys. Me again. I had the silver shocker working as of last weekend. Then Friday night, after picking up the gf, stoping by the field, and late night fun I choose to check on the guns to make sure they or working fine. As I got to turn on the shocker, I get nothing. I changed the battery from the vibe ( just put the last new battery in this gun) and still got nothing. Could this be the upper board that I just replace on this gun?

Were you definitley hitting the button on the board? Sometimes I'd have to press the button in the frame extra far to reach the button on the board on mine.

I figured out what was wrong with both my silver and green shockers. The green one has damage to the upper board and it's a Parker noid.

The silver one, the wire hareness was loose in the board. I changed out the board and put it back together. The only problem now is the power button isn't making contact to the upper board. How do I fix that.

With the "button not contacting the upper board" problem, I assume you're having to push the button uncomfortably far down to actually make contact with the upper board? If this is the case, you could try this ghetto fix, but please, please, please be careful when you do it.

If you can do this without damaging the upper board in the process, it should work. If you have some fast-drying glue or possibly nail polish (it's best if whatever you use is transparent so you can see your board's LED) put a TINY drop of glue on the plastic power button where it's supposed to contact the upper board (obviously don't put it anywhere else.)
When it's fully dry, put it back in the gun. It should fill in just enough space to make turning on and off a bit easier.

Imo, it's better to not use enough glue the first time, and have to add a tiny bit more than to use too much and possibly damage something; so again, be extremely careful

The above noid as you probably know is a parker noid. If you're good at soldering, you can take the contact clips off of a humphrey upper board (they are easy to find) then de-solder the old upper board from the contacts on the noid, and carefully solder the new one on.
I've done this before, and it's a pain, but it works.

This is assuming you have a broken upper board..... If the board is fine, that process ^^^ is obviously not necessary.

The upper board is identical between parker and humphrey. The only difference is that the parker upper board does not have the connectors attached to it, and needs to be soldered in.

Assuming everything's ok, a tiny strip of tape could probably work.

Every thing seems in tack. I guess I need to look at power switch buttons.

Also as far as changes go all the part for the new should be in before the 6 of April. The Asa in the guns are going to change. The Asa on the vibe(black marker) is going on the green shocker. The Asa and drop fw on the silver shocker is going on the vibe. The new Asa is going on the silver shocker. Just a little update for All the shocker fans and thanks for all the help. Posted Image

No, SFTs have their own threading. It'll have to be a specifically SFT threaded barrel.

It wasn't necessarily dumb at the time, considering the Shocker was one of the first guns SP ever made (the shoebox shocker, not the SFT). The dumb move was making the impulse, and all following guns have different threading lol.

Using a gun that's been hardly maintained and tossed from person to person more than a village whore is hardly a fair way to compare the marker.

That's what I'm saying. I wish all sp guns had the same threading.

What's a good barrel to use for a shocker.
