So what made me write this is earlier today I was looking around on facebook and I noticed a female's new banner or whatever the fuck it's called and it said "SWAG: SHE WANTS A GENTLEMAN" (I lost some faith in my generation just by reading that)

Now, this girl is in grade 7, I am in grade 8. The only reason I haven't unfriended her is because her statuses about boys make laugh. They're all about "love" and "relationships" I don't really care about relationships at our age, I find them funny. It's just how heart broken people get over somebody they had a %1 chance of spending their useless lives with.

Next up is about how slutty the kids are in my school (grade 6 - 8), not to mention the love for skinny packs by the females which is funny but sad at the same time.

And now it's time for ego's. I'll admit that I have one myself and I keep it kind of suppressed but that's another story.
I have grade 6 and 7's walk up to me and start talking shit so they can impress their friends. I usually smile, laugh and then leave. I'm just waiting for the day, somebody unlike me, doesn't have the tolerance to put up with them and punches one.

There's a lot more but I don't have six hours to type it.

Good day.

I would think her banner is technically anti-swag, since she's looking for a gentleman, which is pretty much the opposite of swag.

I have a tendency to think the same way, but we do need to consider that women are generally attracted to douche bags at that age.

I was just lucky, because not everybody can look as good as I do in a suit. ;)

When under class men start shit talking me (especially the ones that are Asian like me) I just pat them on the head and tell them "you tried" and just leave.
I mention Asian because I'm taller than most Asians my age so it makes it really easy to just reach out and pat them on the head.

I find it quite hilarious.
But anyways OP you're in middle school, it's not gonna change in high school.
I have the same problem, I tend to ignore everyone who's a bumbling ignorant fool (which is like 70%) and only focus on associating myself with the intellectuals.
It makes life so much more easier.

Don't forget the swag kids that lift up there shirt all the time, reincarnating Tupac. I have a six pack because I'm fit, and lift weights as a hobby. I've never shown it to anyone. Why do 5'11" 90 LB kids get worshiped for it?

Some 6th grader went up to me the other day while I was at the vending machine. He asked if I was in high school, I said no. I looked him in the eyes as he started talking crap about me with some girl next to him. When he was done, I just looked away without saying a word.

My grade is full of people who rap lyrics to the latest and greatest rap songs and are praised for it.

Also, don't forget those kids that act like they know everything and are as mature as the Seniors. When I was in sixth grade my friend got mad at me and called me a MILF thinking it was some sort of insult... haha.

Trust me, it doesn't get better in highschool.
The only advantage in my case, is that my highschool is 1200+ people, so I can easily get around the stupid fucks (85% of my fellow students, literally.
I think I have 5 maybe 6 kids in my science class (including me) that are genuinely smart, the rest are either 1. The sporty types that only talk about hockey and shit, or 2. the ignorant fucks who believe that they are cool for being assholes.) I'd go into more details, but I'm on my phone.

I know the "cliche" of "It was better when I grew up hurr hurrr"

I look at how technology is completely de-socializing people, and it's really shocking. A couple people who I work out with on a daily basis sent me "facebook" requests to be a "facebook friend". Just from their facebook posts, I can practically tell you their favorite places to eat, to shop, to hang out, their political views, etc

But I've never spoken more than 5 words to them! I see them in the gym, and I don't even get a nod or a "hello"

That's some pretty twisted shit right there. It's like the movie Groundhog Day, where he knows every intimate detail about the girl he's trying to court... yet to her, he's a complete stranger.

I'm thankful that I didn't have texting, or facebooking when I was a teenager and when I was in college. I had real conversations with friends, we talked to each other. Face to face, over the phone, we communicated and connected. It helped us get through the toughest times in our lives, knowing there was someone else there for us

Technology I've learned is a double edged sword. When it gives, it also take something away. You can text someone and they receive your message on the other side of the world almost instantly... yet you lose the warmth and comfort of hearing their voice.

I still hate texting, I still hate facebook. You're "friends" on Facebook are anything but

I agree with Mike. It seems like whenever there's a dull moment, people just pull out their phones and start browsing the internet, checking facebook, etc. Although I love my smart phone, (and yes, I too am guilty of this) I sometimes wish we didn't have them so I could get to know other people better.

And to the OP, 8th grade is a dark time. Once high school starts, you'll notice people will start to act a little more normal. And if not, the seniors will put them in their place. But swag is getting old, and being replaced by the harlem shake and gallon smashing... yea I kinda hate the internet

well, all my friends on facebook are posting about it and laughing. A douchecanoe goes into a store and grabs two gallons of milk.
