Knee pads, Elbow pads and a good pair of pants

Focus on the jersey last as it is not really important.

Try not to create multiple threads too.

Get knee, and elbow pads. Slider shorts are nice, but not necessary. Then get pants. Any main brand like Dye, PE, Empire ect. will be fine. I personally find owning a jersey to be a waste of money, unless it is custom, or for a team.

fuck yolo

What should I wear then if not a jersey? because every time I go play I always wear a short sleeve white t shirt

Yeah just wear a long tee for cold days and a short tee for hot days.

I wear cotton because I'm a dumbass, don't wear cotton.

Why not wear cotton?

What is the advantage of paintball paints over say jeans?

I would make sure to have arm pads (planet eclipse and sly are good brands). I don't find the knee pads a must... I use Sly pants and teammates who use Exalt pants don't wear them either. My Sly pants have really nice padding on the knees. Sly didn't come out with new pants for 2013, but the 2012 have plenty of padding and pockets. Pants are better then jeans because they will last longer and give you more protection.

As for a jersey... they are always nice to have because you don't have to worry about ruining your clothes. You did say that you wear a short sleeve shirt, make sure to bring a long sleeve because some fields won't allow bear skin to be showing during play. Also, make sure you are wearing a shirt that is not the color of the paint fill (yellow, orange, pink, ect).

Since when?
And this means no shirt guy cannot exist?

I have been out to Boston Paintball for tournaments and they told teams that they can't play with t-shirts on... I am no so sure about open play (I would assume that depends on the field). They said they don't like the bare skin pretty much between the pads and the upper arm and also if you get shot up in the shirt and they can't see. I had never heard it before till then, but I have also never played in a tournament with a team with short sleeves on either till then. Always good to have backup just in case though.

I've been a Boy Scout for a long time, and if we have learned anything, it's that cotton kills. It gets wet and then a whole bunch of bad shit happens, like chaffing for example.

Yep, when cotton soaks your sweat, it becomes fairly heavy, and it becomes really uncomfortable.

I'd recommend buying clothes in this order
Pants > elbow pads = jersey > knee pads > cleats > bounce shirt

Pants first because if you go out in jeans every time before then you'll ruin a lot of jeans, elbow pads because they're a godsend for superman sliding, but if you don't have a jersey (or any kind of designated long sleeve) they'll get ripped apart quick. Knee pads are nice, but if you get good pants aren't 100% required unless you play on straight dirt/crap turf, my field has some of, if the not the softest turf I've ever felt, so unless its cold out I don't bother. Cleats are fantastic, and I only wear my bounce shirt when it's cold, just to keep myself warm between games/matches.

First After Mike!

what did I tell about doing that?

Get some good padded pants, undershirt, elbow pads, and knee pads. Getting a cup would be good if your playing speedball. Also, try and take a look at Mike's upgrade vid. On YouTube (uploaded April 2008)
