Hey guys, I need to replace my current tank regulator on my Pure Energy 68/45.

I was wondering if their are any specific do's and/or don'ts as far as removing/installing the reg. (Other than making sure the tank is empty)

Also, is their any regulator you would recommend?

Thank you!

I say get a Ninja Pro regulator.

The only "don't" is removing the regulator if there is air in the tank. Do you have the born date for the bottle?

Taking a tank reg off isn't easy. They are loctited on there. You will need a strap wrench and a vice to do it. I had my local shop do a reg swap for me since I didn't have the tools at the time. I recomend calling a few local shops to see if you can have a pro do it.

Dont put oil anywhere near the tank or reg. Dow 33 only.

If you do put locktite on there, use the blue

Make sure its tight on there. Some regs are better than others. The Pure energy regs suck balls when it comes to resealing the reg on the tank. Always get a leak. The way they are built are such that locktite or teflon tape cant make a seal. Stupidity.

I would suggest a Ninja reg, but your reg was made by PSI, who make the Ninja regs. They operate the same as the Ninja regs, so why would you want to replace it?

Thank you guys for all of your help! I will see what my local pro shop has to offer.

The reason for the replacement is because the current reg is broken in more ways than one.

Well, seeing as how you are in Chicago, you should find Ninja somewhere. They are made locally in the Chitown area.

If you are getting a new reg, ninja is the way to go. The standard adjustable reg is fantastic, but if you want to splurge and get the ninja pro reg, it's the last tank reg you will ever buy.
