Kind of hope its not finished yet because that looks dreadful. Grips on the frame looks pretty nice though.

I think this is my favorite marker design so far since I'm still on the fence about the autococker. I'm actually surprised there weren't more markers that ran air through the trigger guard before, and with the way it appears I think they'll be able to separate the reg with a quick disconnect.

I have a feeling one in dust black to match the grips better will look extremely nice. Also internally, based on the diagram I'd expect it to shoot much better than the previous egos

You understand that this is a balanced poppet right? So it's completely different from the egos in the past.

And yeah, i agree soup. A dust black one would match the grips better. But otherwise, I think the front grip looks completely out of place.

To say this even looks like a G6r is really quite moronic, and is directly because the marker is macroless. Which is actually not true, it's semi-macroless. Cool feature is that the marker allows you to run it with or without macroline with the installation of a plug in the trigger frame.

The marker is a completely balanced poppet, more efficient, quieter, and better then ever. Wait for the schematics and features to be released and you will see why... That's if you can't understand them by simply looking at the marker and the shape of it.

The front grip seems to be the growing trend, with the release of aftermarket reg grips as well as newer markers such as the Vanquish, being released with stock grip as well.

We all know this is not one of, if not the most reliable platform in paintball. But also, is going to be another dominantly used speedball marker in the industry.

if you can "plug" the guard hose, and run it like a Normal Ego then I would take everything back I said... But the way it looks with the hose going through the guard is tacky... Also the color they show with the grey on black is atrocious. Not saying it's a bad marker at all, but to spend over $1000 on a marker and have it look like that? I don't want use it and keep a paper bag over it from how fugly it is.

Color doesn't make a gun shoot any better or worse nore do you see it when your shooting it or being shot at. Only time you notice the colors is when it's on your marker holder or just chilling at your car or both.
I thought the reg was sorta ugly at first but now I see the point in all the grip and how p.e. wants us to hold it. we can't be to Biased until we actually put in our hands and feel it for ourselves.
I'm betting most will have a different opinion when we hold it.

Am I the only one thinking this would look fantastic in black? Like all black? Other than that, I see a balanced poppit, which is in a breakout year this year, air transfer which isn't macroline, but is easy to fix, although I would have liked to see the line either go up the trigger frame and around. I guess textured grips are the big thing this year.

So it's got an entirely new valve designed from the ground up with Lurker's input, and supposedly it's not a traditional hammer/valve interaction any more.

Lurker's post:

This seems like a good time to mention that I was honored to work with Jack Wood on some of the improvements to the valve in this platform.

The valve is much, much higher flow than the old one, yet it has been properly designed to improve efficiency, without adding any seals, so it maintains the ego hallmark of reliability. Jack and I studied fluid mechanics, biomimetics, and the mechanical dynamics of the system. For instance, the valve spring is now extremely light, and is hidden so it does not create random zones of low pressure near the valve mouth. The volume available to this improved valve was drastically increased to lower pressure.

The lpr being moved in to the body allows the front to be gripped with one hand high on the barrel much easier

The trigger frame is also higher ( closer to the hopper) than any other stacked tube, which reduces profile.

The macro less system jack chose allows you to tech/swap the reg quickly, while eliminating potential soft line leaks and profile. It's not a compromise. I have gigantic hands and it doesn't get in the way of me gripping it.

I'll just say this: shoot it. I have been a very vocal critic of the shot quality, and, frankly, some of the design philosophy PE has used in the ego previously. Jack and I talked through some of that with an open mind, and jack had his finger on the pulse of the players they sponsor, as well.
When a company stops worrying about hyping a tweaked gun every year and sits down to revamp it, you know they care about the end user experience.

The result is what is now the smoothest and quietest poppet gun available without a balanced valve. And in a lot of cases, better than those that went to the trouble of including it, at the cost of adding critical seals (more orings to fail). And, by the way, it appears to be more efficient than the previous egos.

I'll have a full technical discussion of all the major changes in a video Friday. And this is without even touching on the mechanism linking the valve and rammer, which was a master stroke from Jack.

Ryan

As for the different rammer/valve interaction, someone speculated on a lever between the rammer and valve, and this was Jack's response:

Very good. But you missed out another crucial feature that the lever brings to the valve dynamic

Maybe to them it did. I think most people are just hating on the grips on the reg, but you can always (I'm assuming) take the reg grip off and you'll have a traditional looking ego, apart from macro line. The grips up under the body however, remind me of the newer DMs, which from my experience, are very nice additions. Hopefully the ones on this ego will be just as, if not more comfortable.

No, it is not a balanced poppet. The LPR is just further down and recessed into the body more. The dump chamber in front of the valve is much bigger this way.

No sense for style, but function and design yes. Space is at a premium and milling an air passage might have been to restricted. Also Jack has said countless times that he likes macro for teching.

No sir, infact i was looking forward to a new highend from pe. I knew something was going to change in the ego line with this one, i give them props for doing something unique. But lets face it, its the uglyist gun ever made. in my opinion if anyone thinks otherwise they should go see an eye doctor or is bull shitting you. I would love to get my hands on one to see how they shoot, perhaps that would change my mind.
