The axe has an air transfer tube, only difference is that it is inside the grip, so same concept.

If any other company came out with a half way macro less design like this everyone would tare them apart

My question is why are 300$ markers macro less but a marker that is 1200 not?! This kinda reminds me of angel and there sorry answer to eyes

It doesn't really matter about the macroless. This one is MUCH much more different than the other egos. The firing system has been nearly completely overhauled, so it has both a nicer shot AND a smoother sound signature. The little tube that works as a 'macro' is extremely easy to maintain and it's metal, so rarely any leaks are to occur. The whole point was just to get it out of the way, and, it's out of the way.

Eh, I assumed he was trolling based off of him building an Evil Ehm, which is mechanically very similar to an Ego5. But of course he hates all egos.

This gun is admittedly not "macroless" in any sense of the word other than it not being actual macroline. However, I don't see this as a reason to dismiss the gun as "just another ego" when it clearly is making strides in how poppet valves are activated that I have not seen from any other gun. I'm more interested to see how people copy and improve this lever design than anything else.

Edit:
My bad, didn't realize this macroline issue was such a common sentiment and people were so passionate over something that doesn't personally bother me at all.

Panda actually covers it pretty nicely throughout this thread. (Thread Link) Although I seem to have upset him with my MLP unicorn joke, which was unintended.

I like the Evil Ehm, but I also like the Ego5. They both shoot great, although the Ehm does shoot better. I understand AKA has a legendary reputation and that people get very defensive about their brands. So, I apologize if I've stepped on some toes, but there isn't enough difference between the two to justify the hate on the Ego5 when it has its very roots in what you are building.

Aesthetically, the LV1 isn't the prettiest gun by far, but if it shoots like a dream because of what is inside, then I don't care about the outside. It is the same reason you would probably prefer to shoot an unmilled Ehm over anything else, because of what's inside the gun.

Tonight I shot the only LV1 on the East Coast @ Boston Paintball "Chelsea" I can confirm that the shoot quality is unreal, better than my G6r and in a kick test more quiet and even smoother than my friends Luxe 2.0.

However I found the gun to be very uncomfortable, the frame is in my opinion extremely bulky and I have massive hands. Size XXL Gloves fit snug on me. Also the "Snatch Grip" Behind the frame extends way to far back for my liking I found it hitting my wrist at an awkward angle making for some ergonomic comfort issues.

I think the platform and the valve system is completely mind blowing, however I simply can not find a way I like to hold it.

Till them IMO "A properly tuned and maintained G6r > LV1

A fella at my field is trying to get an LV1, but you know how that whole backorder crap works with local shops when a hyped product is released. So, it will be a while before I test it but so far I am interested. It sounds very quiet in the videos, and the people who have them seem to say they are extremely smooth.

Overbore + heavy ram = low end of the efficiency spectrum. The lighter ram with an underbore would have done a lot better.

Interesting. Are there other rams that come with the marker? If it was in the review I might have missed it since I get bored in the disassembly sections of guns I don't have, so if so forgive my ignorance.

Yes, it comes with a heavy ram and a light ram. The heavy ram will have more inertia, thus it will take the valve longer to respond as it closes, so it will stay open longer. The lighter ram will allow for a more responsive valve time, even if it's at the same dwell as the heavy ram.

How big of a difference would that realistically make? I believe the old number was at 12-13 or something else high up there, but I'm pretty sure that efficiency test was done differently.

I believe the reason they include both rams, correct me if I'm wrong, is because the newer one (heavier one) is to have the gun shoot like the LV1 does. And the lighter weight ram is if you wanted more efficiency or wanted your LV1 to shoot similar to older Egos.

There is no way to do a accurate efficiency test. Never will be everybody will always get different results. Its and ego everybody knows the efficiency will be fine.

It's less about "mike got 8 pods, so ill get 8 pods" and more "this gun got 4 pods and that one got 9." One will obviously be more efficient than the other. It's a comparison tool.

Now if they are within 2 pods of each other, they will likely perform similarly.

Oh and in case this isn't unprofessional enough yet.

Fuck, shit, boobs, purple monkey dishwasher.

While what Schuppert3 is correct in what he posted I still agree with you. That was a very drastic difference in efficiency testing. Approx 13 pods vs approx 8. But as more tests come out I guess we will get a clearer picture of what we might be able to generally expect.

Greenspan had a test too and got a number closer to Mike's.

What I didn't like about hustle paintballs efficiency test is the you barely see the process of the test. They sped right past it. With Mike's and Greenspans test you see every trigger pull and see the conclusion for yourself. With hustles with they're lack of video they could of said whatever they were paid to or wanted to say.

Saw it first!

After watching it I'm surprised at the efficiency test. I was expecting it to do better than just under 8.

If I recall, the tank was only filled to about 4100

another 400 psi wouldn't make the difference of 5 pods that was between Mike's test and Hustle's

Paint size would make a difference, as would elevation. I can't believe it would make 5 pods difference, though.

I was sure that someone would try to use that as reason to discredit the video. I don't think they did it as any attempt to fool anyone or sell more markers. The markers are going to sell regardless. Especially since, regardless of the most accurate efficiency numbers, everyone agrees that the sound and feel is an almost night and day improvement. That seem to be the biggest concern of most players these days.
But as I said earlier, I won't try to guess who's tests are more accurate. I will just wait till more test come out and see what the trend is. Mike got 8. Ryan got 10 (i think). Hustle got approx 13 (1800+ shots).
