eNMEy from GoG is so boss. So are pistols if yoh really want one of those. Used you could try getting an automag or nice autococker.

For 250, if you REALLY want a mech, go for a Tippmann A5. If you don't however, the Proto Rail is a decent choice for that money.

Why do you want a non-electronic gun?Really,an electro would be your best bet for a new/beginner gun.As for mechs under $250,a nice autococker would be cool, but for ease of maintaining,an enmey would be your best bet.

Don't go with Tippmann, and for maintenance's sake, don't go with an Autococker, especially for a beginner. A new automag will run you around 600-700 bucks. Go with the GoG eNMEy; the maintenance is brain-dead simple, and the performance and shot quality is well worth the 130 you get for it. It also comes with a regulator, which is saying a lot for a gun at that price new, meaning your shots will be more consistent.

what is the fastest anyone has ever shot a mech gun?

Well I can easily reach 8 bps with mine. But in all honesty, why does the speed matter, especially for a mechanical marker? They shoot as fast as you pull the trigger, and how fast the gun will shoot not breaking paint. With a mech, the trigger pull is significantly harder to pull than an electro, so you can't really go over maybe 10 bps on average.
The GoG eNMEy's trigger is very short and light for a mechanical marker, being only 1 pound of pressure needed, compared to the 6-8 pounds of pressure on most mechanical markers. The low pressure it operates on means that it has a less likely chance of breaking paint, ensuring the practical speed of the marker. It is also very smooth due to the fact that it is a true pneumatic marker, meaning there is no metal on metal points in the engine so there is less wear, and a much smoother shot.

Why would you buy a new mag when you can get a used one for like $200, that you don't even really need to maintain, maybe lube once or twice a season. With oil.

Cheaper to maintain, less maintenance, TONS of them. No reason to get an enmey IMO.

Well aren't Automags parts hell to get, especially at which you price them at? and I really wanted to recommend the Automag, I did, but if the OP was buying a mech I'd assume, for their price, he'd just get it new. eNMEy's shoot nice, and are regulated, as well as having braindead easy maintenance.

If you want new, go for the eNMEy. They seem to be great shooters and I, being a big mech fan, am actually strongly considering picking one up.
However, if you're fine with buying used, an automag is definitely the way to go. They're incredibly reliable and easy to maintain and you can pick them up for quite cheap. For less than $250, you can easily find some nice 68 classics and minimags that'll likely outlast just about any other gun.

Get a PUMP!

Since you will be spending so much less on paint, you can justify spending more on your marker. When I use my AXE, I go through a case to a case and a half a day (2000 - 3000 paintballs) - When I use my T2 or SM-1 I may go through a bag (500). If you are using any kind of quality paint, that could be a savings of over $50 per day. If you play twice a month, that is a savings of $1200 bucks in your fist year.

So my advise - spend an extra $200 now and get an EMPIRE SNIPER. Nicely made, no need for upgrades and instead of having a near bottom of the line semi, you can have a near top of the line pump. Then at the end of your year, take the $1000 dollars and get yourself a better semi.

Starting with a pump will also make you a better player.

GOOD LUCK!

My Markers:

Polished Silver CCM T2, Polished Black CCM T2, Dust Black CCM T2, Black Bob Long MVP, Dust Back Sanchez Machine SM-1, Polished Silver CCI Phantom, Dust Black Empire AXE.

Dont start with a pump. Start with a standard marker, and then go to playing pump if you feel like trying it out. Plus, dont go with the trracer. At least get a sniper or a Azodin Kaos Pump.

Fastest mech is a RT or X-valved Automag with a high out put hpa tank. People have gotten them up to 36bps. But that's basically full auto. I sometimes run my RT/ULE Mag this way and it is fun but completely unnecessary.

I think a well set up mag with a ULT on/off a average paintballer could walk the trigger to 10-13bps. Some could prolly get much quicker some slower. I personally think as far as mechanical markers AGD Automags are hands Down THE BEST but you have to pay for them.

I your price rang the best new ya can do is a GOG eNMEy. Though for $200 you could find a decent AutoMag used witch would be my preference.
AGD 68 Automag, AGD RT ULE, Azodin KPII, Sheridan PGP 2k, Tiberius T8.1,Tippmann Pro/Carbine, Tippmann SL-68II
