Is it possible to make a regular tippman 98 act? Without buying the expensive kit.

The $35 one? And no, not without the right parts, which would probably come close to the cost of just getting the ACT kit.

It doesn't work anyway, the spring it runs off is too strong so unless you jab your finger in there or shoot marbles it wont let the ram slip.

Do you have a regular gravity fed hopper? I found that my 98 chopped a LOT less when I threw a velocity Jr on it. I think your best bet is to try getting the balls where they are supposed to be rather than hoping the ACT will not crush the half entered balls.
If your over 18 and pay for your own gear... toss me a pod!

Ah there's your problem. Ditch the cyclone feed and just stick any electro hopper on it and it will chop and break much less paint. The cyclone feed launches the balls into the gun so hard they smash against the opposit side of the breech. They are already cracked so when the bolt hits them they explode. Throw the stock feedneck back on there and try on an electro hopper.

I would recommend a vlocity hopper or a halo. Both are very cheap, but high quality loaders... Here on the Techpb BST, you can find Vlocity's and Halo's for around $20-$40... I think theres actually a few going around in the Gearbag section. Go check it out.

Yes I had a velocity Jr with the upgrade that gave it eyes. It worked great on my 98. I remember shooting a bag of evil one day with no breaks!

I got the cyclone for my birthday two weeks ago . I would like to keep it on just so my dad dosent feel like he bought the wrong thing. Is there any upgrade that i can do to my cyclone so this dosent happen anymore?

No, just buy less brittle paint.

Only thing I can think of is perhaps its hot where you are and paint is expanding in it, since the claw paddles in it are a pretty tight fit with paint maybe thats it. That or when it was happening you were low on C02/HPA, the cyclone stops working below 600psi or so.

I use the same thing for my main gun and it happens maybe once every time I play, that said I do use it with squishy paddles. I wouldn't get too much into the mindset of upgrading a Tippmann because its a very bad idea, but if the problem continues maybe get something like this (any cheap knockoff will work, you can probably find the same thing on Ebay for less) http://www.ansgear.c...softpaddles.htm

I always thought they were a snake oil upgrade but they might help in your situation.

It is hot in texas and i did notice my paintballs expanding. I was low on co2 too at the time. I have a response trigger on my tippman too.
