Depends on the size of your paint. And that's hard to nail down. Paint size is different batch to batch, and is affected by climate and storage conditions. Best people to ask are the players at your local field, since they use the paint you will be using.
Whats the best bore size?
Now do you want to underbore or overbore? Underboring is more efficient, but requires more effort. Overboring is less efficent, but is easy. They are both equally as consistent. Ideally, you want to be .003 to .005 over or under your paint size, depending on what you want to do of course. A good safe overbore size is .689. Underboring is a little more difficult since if you want to stay in that .003-.005 sweet spot, you may need to change barrels (or barrel backs or inserts, depending on the system) throughout the day. This is more likely if the day starts cool and warms up a bit as the day goes on. The efficency gains from an large overbore to an ideal underbore is in the neighborhood of half to 3/4 of a pod. If you don't need or want this small boost, underboring may not be for you.

What paintball do you buy at the field? White box stuff(cheapest paint) or do you try and buy the best money can buy?
or, does your field only one kind of paint, and what is it? I noticed if you over bore(not like .693) a little you tend to get less barrel breaks, I wont go under a .683 with my fields paint... fits snug but nothing constricting.
