Yes you would be an asshole, but i would still do it so you can get $120 or so.
Just think of all the fun that would buy you.
30 seconds of amusement at a Casino...
A cellphone payment...
An unnecessary over the top gaming mouse for your casual non-gaming computer needs...
Or you could do what I would do and buy a ridiculous amount of food and eat some of it, puke then eat more of it and realize you've been defeated and throw it at seagulls and oncoming traffic.
Actually that makes me want to go to tacobell right now.

This this post was a lot better then doing my homework TBH.

That's essentially what the industry has been doing for years. Asshole, successful industry leading business owner, the lines get blurred sometimes.

I said nay.

You'd only be an asshole if you also promised them that it'd be super accurate and you could "snipe" across the field.

Just selling it to him at that price isn't bad. Buyers should learn what they want through research up front, before putting down cash.

Yup. I wouldnt feel bad at all. The buyer needs to do the research in a free market.

But.... but.... but... my MLG SteelSeries Senisi has over 1 million color options, I can change my DCPI with a press of a button and there are 4 programmable keys.

It's a free market. You can put whatever you want up for sale and at whatever price you want. I wouldn't feel bad if it sold. That's more money in your pocket.

So it's bad karma to sell a product to someone else who was willing to pay that price for it? He's not coercing them, and he's not promising something it's not, so no fraud going on here at all.

It's not like the OP has the only source of food or water and is gouging to take advantage of his monopoly on a essential-to-life product. It's just a paintball gun, and nobody needs to buy one right this second to survive. They can pick and choose based on their wants and budget.

that is all well and good, and while we do live in a capitalist society, the OP is not doing anything "wrong". But by his own admission, he thinks he could be taking advantage of a "newb", just by the way he stated his case and the words he chose to describe the buyer. some members have stated that the buyer is responsible to research on his own, which is true... but isn't part of that research to ask other people whom you trust or respect to bargain in a fair and equitable manner ?

I can go on PBNation right now and find 98C's with camo anno jobs between $70 and $85. Now granted, they don't have the custom, sweet, home-made gold spray paint job that the OP is offering, along with the monster barrel, but how would you like to be welcomed to the paintball community if you were a "newb" ? Is this a deal that you would jump all over ?

karma is what you make of it, but if you have to ask someone else if you could be considered to be an asshole for some act, then there is a really good chance you already know the answer to that question.

The thought has crossed my mind to try and sell my old syndicate misfit on craigslist for more than its worth, but I doubt I would do it, I would feel too bad.

If someone were to buy something and not do minor research, or get some understanding of it before buying it, then it's their fault. Now, if you tried to sell it with the 22" barrel as a feature, you might be a borderline asshole.

I don't know. Whenever I put something on craigslist, the only offers I ever get are super low ball.
