Because they will give you a little bit of money to pay for everything and that away when you talk to them about they do not get mad

Maybe he has limited funds and he is thinking that if the parents are involved they might give him money to go more often.

Do you play for Texas A&M??

Talk them into playing one day with you.

Do they come and watch when you play? That might help if they don't so they can see how good of a time you play. Improving grades also never hurts to make a parent like anything you want to do more.

You have to ask them why and try to work out a solution with them.

That being said, you will get many different opinions from people so forums are usually not the best place to ask for life advise.

It's a good thing you brought this up because I would as well like to get my parents into the fantastic sport.

If they don't want to talk to you about paintball, then don't talk to them about paintball outside of essential necessity (like if you are unable to drive, which based on the questioning I'm guessing you are < 16).

My parents were never big on paintball. Eventually my dad tried it but that wasn't until much later.

That's just my opinion. There's no "need" to bug them with it if they don't want to know about it.

But for most people, especially in the recreational zone, it's a hobby. For me, it's a sport, but that's because I play tournies constantly and practice constantly. But when I'm playing on a casual Saturday or Sunday morning? Yeah no that's a hobby to me.

how I got my parents into paintball is by taking them to a field one day, they had fun (well at least my dad did) and they saw how much I was enjoying myself, they haven't went since but I found out that they have no problem taking me to them now! haha

It is a hobby.

A hobby is something you dump money in where there is no gain besides your personal gain. You dump money in it and you get nothing in return. Playing divisional is different however.
