The World Famous SC Village Presents:

Tet Offensive

"Crack the Sky, Shake the Earth"

When: June 29-30

Where: SC Village, Chino, CA

— Message to communist forces who were informed that they were "about to inaugurate the greatest battle in the history of our country".

It was 1968 and the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces marched on their quest for the takeover of South Vietnam, thus marking the turning point of the Vietnam War. Attacks - costly failures. Provinces - set ablaze. Life-long friends and neigbors - crushed by the campaigns of war. With the battles for the two northernmost provincial capitals in South Vietnam, Quang Tri City and Hue waging...Saigon, the national capital quaked in the throngs of war. 6 major battle-scorned conflicts ensued during the war with the eminent attack of Saigon on the horizon. Decisive decisions were made by the US Forces and South Vietnam as the struggle to avoid the weight of the inevitable crumble closed in.

Operation: Tet Offensive: a 24 Hour Paintball Scenario The creators of the Decay of Nations Paintball Scenario series returns and kicks off the 2013 season with the return of Operation: Tet Offensive, a 24 Hour Paintball Scenario on June 29th and 30th at the World Famous SCVillage. The saga continues with an intense recreation of factual events mixed with a little paintball fantasy flare of the Vietnam War. A definitive favorite of Southern California paintballers, the 24 hour paintball scenario will feature overnight camping for guests, incredible prize packages, a Vendor Village to satisfy your shopping needs, and offer a scenario experience that paintballers from all walks of life is sure to enjoy.

So I have a few ideas/concerns.
1. Assembly:
How do we get together at the event? There are huge amounts of people out there and its going to be hard to find one another when we barely know anything about eachother.
2. Discounts: If we get our group together before the end of the month we can get a discount, should we start taking down names?

For your group, have to suggest someone take lead on this and I would strongly recommend getting the money that is needed for registration up front. Andrewthewookie has had experience for getting the TechPB Kill Squad together for Decay. Contact Jamal Freks Williams at (562)376-4622 at Giant. He can give you more information on Tet, especially discounts and when is the last day to pre-reg.

Your best bet, is to know if everyone will be camping overnight or what. That way, you can all camp in one spot and just hang out and chill.

Sounds like a plan. Thing is how to responsibly get the money together. And thankfully if we pre reg before the month is over we get the free overnight parking.

In regards to the free overnight parking, that is something you have to contact Giant.

With the money, for me I use Paypal. At least with that, there is some electronic trail for all parties involved. I usually tell people to wait until a set date to send me money (at least 1 week before the Giant pre-reg date), just in case something comes up, because I transfer that money into my bank account and use my card to pay. Oh and I keep detailed information on who is going, what kind of entry, what kind of paint and how many, camping and so on. Since I live relatively close to HSP, I go there in person and make the transaction, plus I give them a copy of the breakdown of my team.

If you or the others don't have paypal ... well could always go the money order route.

I don't know where I got the free parking thing from, must have been something I heard at decay. PayPal seems like a safe plan.

pre-reg before may 29, entry will include air and parking for Tet. It's in the first post, in the flyer and on the pre-reg site.

not a problem. the flyer is tough to understand as the pricing isn't clear nor the notation about the free stuff. But on the website, it does state that if you pre-reg before May 29, the weekend camping and air is included in the entry.

So I should start looking into who is going, get a rough number, call up giant, and see what type of deal they'll give us? And if we bought paint in advance and in large quantities would that help?

Quite honestly, each player should choose their own. I think some can barely scrape by with the rec grade or that their marker can't handle the tourney grade. But, if you can get bulk discount on a grade of paint, then that would be good.

Although this has been posted on Facebook, I wanted to at least post up the following by Gio D'Egidio, managing partner of Giant Sports. I wanted to post this message up in this thread rather than starting a new one.

Hey everyone, I would like to invite all team captains for the first of many team meetings for paintball operations Tet Offensive and Decay VI at HSP at 10am. I was originally planning on having it on May 25, but that is on Memorial Day weekend.

We would like your input on these events and we all hope that you can make it.

If you have any questions, you can message me here. Thanks.

*HSP = Hollywooodsports Park in Bellflower, CA

Unless you have Gio as a friend on facebook, if you have any questions, please email him at gio@hollywoodsports.com. If there are any questions posted here, I will do my best to answer them to the best of my knowledge.

WHen you pre-reg, print out your receipt and bring it with you to the game.

Typically with Giant, they have a shipping container full of paint. When you check in, they will give you a paint ticket. Take that ticket to where they store the paint and they will give it to you. Easy and simple.

Hello my fellow players! With Tet Offensive coming up this weekend, I just want to post up this friendly reminder to start hydrating if you haven't done so.

The Weather Channel has forecast the weekend of June 29 to be in the high 90's. However, that does not mean to slack off in preparation for an intense weekend of play.

To keep up to date on the weather at SC Village, go to the Weather Channel website: National and Local Weather Forecast, Hurricane, Radar and Report and for the city, type in Chino, CA.

Again, you should be hydrating to prevent any heat injuries. Drinking only a day or 2 before the event will not be very helpful as the water will, in a sense, go right through you.

Please pass this on to your fellow players that you know are going to Tet Offensive. It never fails that there are many players that suffer from heat injuries, especially dehydration, because they are not properly hydrated, been drinking highly caffeinated drinks or have been drinking alcohol (which is a definite no no)

One more thing, don't forget to make sure your gear is ready and in working condition. Don't want to spend the whole weekend fixing your gear....

--------------------------------------------

I have pulled this off the Giant Sportz facebook page:

This weekend at World Famous @SCvillage TET OFFENSIVE 24-Hour Scenario Paintball Event

Attention all members register now at %50 off deal ends tonight!! Call 1-877-Giant-97 or register online at @GiantSportzOutlet .com

members must call in #Scvillage #giantsportz #tetoffensive#24hourpaintballevent #paintball #RegisterNow
