Hey everyone! I'm finally taking the plunge and I am beginning to get into tournament play. I am very satisfied with my current marker set-up (Ego11, Z2, Ninja 68/45), E-Flexes, and my Empire pack. I just have a few questions about miscellaneous gear, and want to know your choices.

- Pants: I currently have Empire Prevails, but they'll be done by the end of this year. What are you favorite pants? Looking into Empire or Disruptive.
- Pods: I use whatever I can get my hands on. Do you guys have any favorites that are durable and easy to open?
- Swabs: Again, I'm open to any suggestions.
- Footwear: Would cleats be better, or should I stick with a running shoe/cross-trainer?
- Backup Loader: What is a good loader for the price that would be a nice backup? I'm thinking of an Empire Scion right now.

I heard GI pants are pretty good, if you don't want those, just get Empire Contacts

I like Empire pods, most pods don't really seem that different, but these hold paint while still being easy to open

exalt barrel maid, 'nuff said

For a backup loader, you could probably find a used rotor or z2 for around the same price as a scion.

DYE PAINTBALL 4LYFE!!!

In all seriousness I hear great things about bomb swabs and think the HaloB is the greatest loader ever in the history of the world as far as price to usability great backup.

Oh and dear god get cleats...

Empire, Dye, PE, and GI are all good choices for soft goods.

Just wait for pods to go on sale (i think ANS had normal pods for $0.99 recently), just buy the standard pods at a cheap price so its not a huge loss when one breaks or some jack off steals your pods

Cleats are amazing, you can easily find amazing cleats on clearance online and at some stores

IMO I dislike the exalt barrel maids. I have 2 of them and they are a really cool concept but dont work as well as one might think. The circular disk that collapses down as you push it down the paint coated barrel does a decent job of leaving the paint alone but will still pick up some paint and shove it farther down into your breach and then when you pull it back out, the disk expands and gets most of the paint out followed by a cleaning with the fuzzy end. But the disk has already shoved paint into your breach and the fuzzy end cant get it out.

I like the CP Advantage Spiral Micro Fiber Swab. When used with a clockwise twist as your cleaning out your barrel (and counter clock wise on the way out), I have had extremely clean barrels and little/no paint shoved into my breach. The micro fiber is very absorbent and does an amazing job. Have had my CP micro fiber swab for about 2 seasons and still works just as well as the day I got it

Now no matter what swab you end up using, there is no better way of cleaning out your barrel while in game from a barrel break and/or a chop than to completely take your barrel off and clean it from the barrel back to the front, but most in-game situations do not allow that much time to be taken so in the end, it is all a trade off. Completely clean your barrel and shoot straight but take a junk of time, or quickly swab out as much paint as possible and shoot mostly straight.

Clothing, Dye Destroys the competition, even their old models like the C9 feel more comfortable then new stuff thats coming out.

pad's Go with planet, they make very great pads for the price you pay.

pods: uhm...? anything but Dye lock lids.

Back up loader: Why not a JT Revolution? $44 and gets 12bps... Those things were amazing up until 2005 when markers were getting wayyyy fast.

foot wear: Go to a store that sells shoes and try them on, I personally love Nike but right now I'm using some Wal-Mart Cheapo's and honestly, I can't tell a difference.

Thanks a ton guys! I should be able to pick the gear up later this season. I'll compare a lot of stuff in my price range to find something I like.
